    I'm sure you would allay everyone's fears if you offered to buy a new keyboard for every one which no longer functions after having been put in the dish-washer. How about it? :)

    I've done it twice, no problems. For a lot of people this might be an alternative to throwing it away. This keyboard I'm using now has been through the dishwasher.

    We have an ingenious device at home called a vacuum cleaner which does a remarkable job of clearing all manner of debris from keyboards. One downside is it can only be used while the OH is not at home.

    Apparently (although I find this hard to believe) it can also be used for cleaning carpets (do not try this at home!)
