Dirty keyboard?

They can be a pain to clean especially if that means taking the keys off, the easiest way is to put them in the dishwasher, yes the dishwasher, you just have to be really sure you let it dry thoroughly for a good few days.

And what do you do about the flying food debris that gets stuck on the PCB?? What about the effect of the salt on the electronics? As for drying it for a few days, it would be sheer luck if it dried thoroughly and enough to ever work properly again.

I would not consider putting a keyboard in a dishwasher, or anything electronic.

I clean my laptop the same way every couple of months. Works fine as long as you let it dry thoroughly.

Sorry but that doesn't happen on desktop keyboards unless you fully immerse them in it. I can only guess by that comment that you've never popped the keys off a desktop keyboard.

Desktop keyboards are designed in the main so you can pop the keys off, chuck the keys in the dishwasher and clean the recess where they go.

Must admit I've scrubbed (scrubbing brush) a few mucky keyboards (desktop) with a weak bleach solution. Then rinsed well, shaken out excess water, then put out in the sun, if summer, or into the airing cupboard for a week.

Gets rid of cigarette (non smoker) smell, biscuit crumbs, animal hair and strange little curly hairs.

Never had a problem, so far. :)
    Move along, nothing to see.

I didn't use Salt, or have anything else in the dishwasher, there was probably already enough food underneath the keys anyway.

This keyboard seems to be working just fine!
