oh dear not a happy bunny at all!!! Have spent money and I look huge, 9 months pregnant huge! 'sob'

The money I have spent was on a new pair of flipflops someone was selling at work, and with my big fat pregnant feet I thought it was a good idea £5

I bought another book from the bookman for my niece for christmas £3.50

And here is the ranting fat bit. It is non school uniform day tomorrow, and being so huge and pregnant I am unable to fit into any of my jeans!!!!!..... so I got some bump bands which cover your stomach and below so that you can wear your normal tops and jeans etc but leave them undone etc. £10

I've got them home, and tried on my jeans, which to be honest I really struggled to get over my fat !!!!!, yes I know I'm pregnant etc etc, but my bum isnt!!!! so once on, I put on a bump band and a nice top, top was far too tight on my arms, again, are my arms pregnant?! I have undone the buttons on the arms and from the front I actually look really nice, I turn to the side and OH MY GOODNESS, do I look like a whale, I am Huuuuuuuuge, yes I know I am pregnant, but I'm only 21 weeks and am already the size of a huge house, I have weighed myself, now my ideal weight is 8st which to be honest I hve never been, my normal weight is arount 9st I am now a whopping 10stone, I am 5ft 2 by the way. so I have put on about a stone!!!! normal weight gain for pregnancy apparantly is about a stone and a half, and my baby only weighs about 200g right now!!! and I have so much more growing to do!!! Am panicked, the women I work with are mostly erm.... rather larger ladies of the size 20 variety, and they say its just their baby weight they never lost and I've got it all to come!!!! I am so paranoid that I am just going to put all this weight on and not be able to lose it!!!

I think its all the "I'm going to eat whatever I like" mindset and the no exercise (which the midwife advised to do as it helps labour!!!)

So I am going to borrow my mums exercise bike and do some light exercise on there and on the cross trainer (taking advice from the midwife) and I also need to start eating healthily, not to lose weight as that would be bad but to not gain any more huge amounts that aren't baby!!! As I have to admit I eat cr*p most of the time.

I'm not wanting to be judged or asking for advice, and I know I am the luckiest person in the world to be pregnant, I just dont want to end up being a right fatty because of it!! I know I shouldnt be so vain but it is making me unhappy :( and I just needed to rant.

So as of tomorrow, light workouts and eating healthily.

    And breathe....

You sound really upset hun. I think your height is possibly what's causing the problem here. 5'2 is very petite, an extra stone on any person that height, pregnant or not is going to be much more noticeable than on a person who's 5'8.

From the measurements you've given I expect your clothes are a size 8/10. A pregnant person is going to have trouble fitting in to a size that small. I know you've said you feel huge but there is no way somebody who weighs 10 stone can be huge. It's probably that when you look in the mirror you see that extra stone which of course is difficult when you are used to being so much smaller BUT to anybody else looking at you, you definitely aren't huge. Other people probably see a radiant pregnant girl.

Hi Missymoo - i'll confess I've only read the 1st and last page of your diary but had to comment...

My LO is 18 months and my 2nd child. I ballooned really early on with him and thought i would be unable to move by 9 months!! I found that swimming along with healthy-ish eating (which still included treats!) did the trick for me. I do believe that doing a little exercise if you can does help you cope a little better with labour, more so 'cause your body doesn't tire as easily.

Try not to stress and enjoy the pregnancy - don't be too hard on yourself. I shall read the rest of your diary with interest.

    Best wishes ;)

I'm sure they mean that your bump is getting big as opposed to you being huge :) You're also not going to end up a size 20 :rotfl: As a person who is very conscious of her appearance you are going to work on getting back to your default 9st after you've had your baby. There are loads of diet threads and diaries around here to help with that.

This might be difficult but you'll have to learn to be ok with being bigger than you are used to for the next few months.

For now have you sorted out the outfit for tomorrow? Last thing you need is a clothes crisis in the morning.

You may find you're so busy you won't have time to think about your weight or even find the time to look in the mirror! :rotfl:

I think Mags is right, it will all come right after the baby :)

I know you're keeping the budget really tight but if clothes and what to wear is causing stress and upsetting you, you can sort this by buying some maternity clothes you like in the sales. Just one or two outfits so that you have something to wear if you need to go to any social events.

Will check back tomorrow and see how you are doing.

Glad @Hopeful is here:) cause most of Missy's MSE friends have never been pregnant and we're generally more useful for chatting about shoes :rotfl:
