problem with housing association

im in a one bedroom bungalow on a warden controlled estate
now for over 6 months ive had people knocking on bedroom window at all times of night (as late as 4am) , bedroom window is almost floor to ceiling and is (as i live in a corner bungalow) facing the road (only 3' of grass between bungalow and road) also i get eggs thrown at rear of bungalow (kitchen window) and due to being overwieght i get abused by school children who pass my bungalow on main road
have reported every incident to scheme manager ,who then report it to police and housing association
now the housing officer , from housing association , in charge of my area has said there is nothing they can do and wont even rehouse me in a different area , police are also saying that they can do nothing to people carrying out the antisocial behaviour
im at my wits end now , what can i do as i cant take much more

You could try asking WHY nothing more can be done? I can see that it's a problem for them, since it's not other tenants causing the problems, but is the boundary fenced?
The HA will have a formal complaints policy: I'd start by following that.
Also while they can't just rehouse you, presumably there is nothing to stop you applying for housing in another area.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Oh I'm so sorry to hear this
I can't offer much help but know I feel your pain and hope you get everything sorted out. I'd do as the very helpful person above has suggested and contact your Housing Assosciation as there must be something that can be done. Take care and good luck

no the only fenced in part is the rear garden , bedroom window is not in this part and as they dont seem to want to bother to find out whos doing it , no one knows if its other tenants
and as im in sheltered housing dont i have a right to "sheltered housing" ??0 -

Not in the way that you are thinking of, no. They should provide support for you, which they are doing by informing the relevant parties of these incidents. However, the incidents are entirely beyond their control.
Out of interest, what would you like them to do, if moving is not an option?Gone ... or have I?0 -
Unless you can persuade the Housing Association that your home is affecting your mental health and you urgently need help from the mental health services there is little you can do except ask to be rehoused in a different part of the geographic area covered by your own Housing Association - or - apply to a~n~other different Housing Association / Local Authority for rehousing.
The Police certainly do have facilities for gathering video evidence on your behalf, persuading them to do so with their very limited resources however is a different thing. In this case [ from their point of view ] nothing has been vandalised / damaged and no one has been physically hurt / attacked.
Find someone who will get video evidence to give to the police, or move. its not your fault, you are a victim, I'd start by getting a copy of the written ' anti social ' policy of your Housing association and use it to get some action by them on your behalf.
BTW I do not consider your accommodation ' sheltered '. It is merely warden controlled.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I try to be an even-handed poster and accept that you at times may not agree with these opinions or how I choose to express them, this is not my problem. why do you consider my bungalow warden controlled and not sheltered ???0 -

You seem quite keen for someone else to solve the problem. You're willing to move, if your HA will move you. But have you actually registered your desire to move, and started the process?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
could you either ask your HA/police to put a small CCTV camera at your home to deter catch these bullies?
If they refuse then is there anyone that can do this for you? My grandmother had trouble with kids egging her and knocking/kicking her door, the LHA couldnt care less as there was no actual damage being done to the property and the police were less than helpful (told to call and log the incidents each time and IF there was a patrol close they would have a look!)
My dad bought a camera for £20, put it in full view and hooked it up so it was motion activated. There was also a security light attached, which very soon deterred the little gits harassing her.
Its disgusting that the authoritites dismiss this kind of harassment, I saw first hand the stress and anxiety it caused my grandmother, and I fully sympathise with you!
Hope something is sorted soon xxxIdeas, help and advice always welcome, judgements and assumptions are not!!:happyhearMarrying my Mr Perfect 20130
