PF has already been paid to do that.

Hence you pay customs your duty/vat and which ever courier that was intended to handle it would pick it up as normal.

    no they havent
    handling an item through customs
vs customs removing an item and holding it
then that courier having to return to collect it at a future date is a very different thing.
you seem to think both cost the same?
  • Another point I would like to bring up is that my parcel had not been opened or inspected by customs, this smells of a scam between customs and Parcel Force. I also noticed the company I purchased my reel from in the States, under priced the item on the shipping label stuck to the parcel, makes me think foreign companies try to help minimize our importing fees.

well on that you have the choice.
    use another courier
or get yourself an agent for importing goods
or complain to HMRC about why they dont allow you to pay directly
however, dont think it will work out any cheaper if the system is changed to allow it
its the same as i have said many time.however like the others you will strop on and do none of the above

Then there would be complaints about the £200+ charge for the service ;)
  • Next time I buy from abroad I am going to ask Parcel Force for my parcel and not even pay the VAT, as they cannot refuse to hand over your parcel, let them take court action to recover there cost.
