the best deal i have currently seen is from affordable mobiles with tmobile the deal is

    £25 a month
    600 mins
    500 texts
    500mb internet
    free phone

    12 months 18 months 24 months ???

    18 months = £50 for network usage .
    24 months = £200 for network usage
Measured against PAYG £400 if you can get one .

sorry, 24 months but is still a pretty good deal for what you get

I keep reading that if you get the Samsung Galaxy through a third party stockist like carphone warehouse or phones 4u rather than directly from your provider that the you cant get full internet speed or it is capped. Would someone be able to explain how much difference and how slow it makes your phone as its all a bit confusing to me! Something to do with 3g and hdsp or something!

It may vary from network to network, but I know it's not standard practice across all networks . The bigger issue with third party stockists is they're just interested in the initial sale, if something goes wrong with the handset you'll generally get a lesser level of customer service and the network you have the contract with wont have anything to do with your handset issue.

You may all want to hold off getting the galaxy S2 until june as a version with NFC is supposed to be released.

I'm finally going to give in and get a smart phone. I really want the best internet connectivity whilst on a train during my commute but I don't want oodles of minutes or texts etc.

I'm currently on Asda PAYG and at 8p a minute (going up I know), I maybe put £10 on every couple of months so I guestimate I use about 30 to 50 minutes a month and maybe 10 texts. I might use a little more if I was not directly paying for it but never hundreds of either.

I would like to be on 3 but £40 a month for the S2 is overkill for me as that is £960 over 24 months. 02 doesn't work near me so that is out.

Can't use cashback as I can't go through the application fully online.

Any options spring to mind ? Buying it cheap and then paying a 3 SIM only would work.

Anybody managed to get anymore deals recently?!

Still considering either GS2 or HTC sensation.

No deal I'm afraid, but I got the "order shipped" email from Expansys today :D I bought sim-free with 5% Quidco cashback and a £15 off code that could be used at the same time. Hoping that it arrives tomorrow, otherwise it's going to be a loooooooong wait until after the bank holiday. Going to keep it stock for a bit (famous last words!) then it's root and play... I *was* possibly considering the Sensation but given that it looks like the bootloader's going to be locked it's going to be far less fun. Can't decide what to do with my trusty HD2 now... I might just keep it as backup/ spare phone because, well, it's still quite a nice toy :p

I think i'm gonna go with the o2 carphonewarehouse deal for £27 a month

along with the top cashback it seems pretty good

can anyone confirm that the speed of the mobile internet will be the same when ordering through the carephonewarehouse as it would be with ordering through o2?

You can't transfer the number from 02 to ermmmm 02

Yes you can, you don't need a pac code tho. Customer services do it.

Or you can transfer the no to a pay and go sim on another network, and then transfer it back to your new contract.
