It'd be deliciously ironic if OP was a jew and the dentist refused to gas him before treatment.0 -
This is quite an amazing thread.
The OP has managed to post on the topic of dentistry in such a way that nearly everybody reading has sympathy for the dentist!!!
Well done my son - there's a job for you in the PR department of the British Dental Association! How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
ive never paid in advance, but apparently im private tho i have no private plan, just pay the full feeTarget Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -
I've got an NHS dentist, but I only pay for what's been done at the time.
I don't pay in advance for what's been booked for the future.
Usually, if it will involve a course of treatment, they just tell me to settle up at the end of it.
I must have a good dentist!
Would agreee though, that a money grabbing dentist practice can't really be compared to genocide lol:eek:
LinYou can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -
If the dentist refuses to provide a receipt for advanced payments, refuse to pay."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

I would actually agree with that. If you pay anything anywhere surely you're entitled to a receipt? How to find a dentist.

It is absolute extortion!
The only thing they've done wrong is refuse a receipt.'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'

Perhaps she refused out of spite? On account of being called a Nazi."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

For goodness sake - you should just have paid for the check up and said you would pay for the other treatment on the day. If that was not acceptable then you could have complained to the practice manager. If no joy then choose another dentist.
Mentioning the holocaust was just plain rude and distasteful and would not have helped your appeal one bit.
His point was people following orders without question, I find your fixation on it shameful as are the others who are trying to outdo your own daft comments.0
