I have felt how you are and I found the key was having friends who were also motivated to do exercise, I've always enjoyed running, and just 20 mins out fo my day really gives me more energy. Look at what your eating, cook your self thin are great books from the channel 4 tv prog and suitable for the whole family. Simple things like cutting our white bread, rice swapping it for wholemeal or wraps and cutting out sugar, eating at right times of the day will really lift your mood & energy levels. Have you thought about joining a class like WW? You know you feel a bit rubbish at the moment and only you can make yourself feel great. Your find as well your skin & hair will improve as you eat better or exercise. So step away from this PC, and go for a walk or make yourself some healthy lunch!!Received £2,626.00 in PPI -2013:j
Received £1400 charges - 2006:j0 -
its hard sometimes..i know what u mean
i would look at some small aspect of the big picture...loosing a bit of weight or buying a few new clothes of having a hair cut....and try and take baby steps towards it....do u get a break from the child care ? perhaps ask oh to do a few hours at the weekend and u go out and buy a little something to lift your mood or meet friends
my personal mantra for what its worth its never going to be easier than today so ill start....rome wasnt built in a day (so they say) so decide what u want to do/change and make a start
good luck tessonwards and upwards0 -

mummyofboys - have a look at "myfitnesspal" its a calorie counting website. You put everything you eat/drink on there and it counts down your calories for you letting you know how many you can have. You also earn calories if you do exercise. If you have a smart phone there is an App.
For example: 2 Hard boiled eggs with 2 slices of toast is approximatley 331 calories. Women should eat approximatley 1500 calories, yours will be higher as thats based on average. (formula is BMR = 655 + (4.35 x weight in pounds) + (4.7 x height in inches) = Calorie intake) Rough guess is you should be eating 1890 MAXIMUM a day (more if your exercising)0 -

I will download that app and make an appointment with the doctor to see if I qualify for any sort of help with ww fees. How much are these classes usually? I quite like swimming aswell but is this only good for toning? not loosing wieght?
Its a hard one, most of my friends are single uni goers who are all slim. They all have slim bodies and dont really have to worry about their wieght! I feel pretty crap about everything, I used to have good boobs until my kids now they are just empty and sagging and my stomach after two sections is just a mess! I feel in the middle of the two groups. At college there is the younger ones who are single/baby free... or the older ones who are 39/40 who have older children and are starting to go out again, and are slim and cougarish haha... I dont really fit in anywhere.0 -
Right, as someone who lost 4-5 stones a few years ago, the best thing you can do is cut down where possible and do more when you can. Four simple words: "Eat Less, Do More", but so much harder to do.
If you have sugar in your tea/coffee, drop it down to 1/2 spoon and have less cups. If you have a bar of chocolate a night, get a smaller bar only. If you drink full-fat milk or pop, cut down to semi-skimmed and diet. This way you are reducing your calories without taking away too much.
When you get chance, take a walk - even if it is just to the park with the kids. Aim for 1/2 mile per day this week, 1 mile next. Build it up. If you don't have time for a long walk every day, take 3-4 shorter ones (a dog really helped me with this!). at 15st, every mile you walk is ~150calories. If you exercise now, add these onto what you are doing. Better still if you can get your hubby to join you and go for a stroll together with the kids every night.
Remember that 1lb of fat = 3500calories, so if you can walk 2 miles a day and drop 200calories from your intake it will be 1lb of fat burnt off per week. Just remember that you will build muscle as you exercise, which weighs more but takes up less space. Worry more about how your clothes fit than what you weigh. Try not to weigh yourself too often as a blip can easily set you back.0 -
you need to tone as well as lose weight otherwise you wont shift the excess skin. (trust me, you dont want that!)
Not sure on WW price - i know its a few quid?
How do you know your friends dont worry about their weight? just because they dont tell you doesnt mean they dont worry. My sister is a skinny mini, she's a perfect size 10. She stuffs her face, burgers, pizza, you name it, she eats it. Then she gets upset, because she CAN NOT put weight on, but not any of her friends know this.
Me, I've been a size 10, up to a size 18. Ibiggest i weighed was 14stone. When i got to 14 stone i panicked and kick started my diet. im now 11 stone 11 and im pregnant. I'm stuffing my face - BUT im working the calories off and havent put anything on.
it's all about balance0 -

Thankyou... this has really helped...
I do eat alot of white breads/carbs and sugar. I also eat alot of processed crap aswell.0 -
Also, the bigger you are, the more calories you burn - so lose weight quicker
re: swimming - burns a lot of calories. Anything physical you do burns calories, its just a case of balancing your activity with your intake.0
