Tuesday 17th May - What small DFW things will you be doing today!?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:D

Goooood morning all you lovely people:T
Waiting to hear back from the Uni about what I'd have to repay - might ring student loan company today too. I'm starting to think it's definitely the right thing, to give it up and free myself of the huge pressure that's always there. I could start to do things I like without feeling guilty and that I should be studying:o Being unwell just spoilt it all.

Hope everyone is well and feeling cheery... time for my list:
  • check banking
  • check onepoll
  • check ebay - one sale overnight of £7.50:beer:
  • post 2 ebay parcels at lunchtime
  • packed lunch for dd2
  • lunch from home for me
  • parcel up Next returns
  • meal from plan tonight - chicken something
  • chicken defrosting in fridge
  • ring student loan company
  • iron/photgraph stuff for ebay
Right, that's enough for me - have a super old day all:A:A
I really need to sort out a new signature!

    Hi everyone :hello:

Hi Pixie - hope you get all of that sorted. :grouphug:

I checked banking etc last night - didn't look so bad when I realised over £500 was the extra wedding expenses - MIL giving us about £100 of that - and £200 for my chiro - the health of my back is surely more important than me being in my overdraft, right?! Guess it's just about getting into the right frame of mind and paying it off, rather than thinking "it's got soooo bad, I can't do anything about it!"

    Small things:
    • Post back wedding flowers preservation thing - they're awful and I paid over £200 for them  - she said she'll fix them so no refund for me. Boo! Just so disappointed I don't want them at all.
    • Remind boss I'm available for overtime :T
    • Brekkie at home
    • Taking lunch and snacks to work
    • Yoga and OH's class tonight - costs me £10 a week but think it's worth it and helps me keep focussed and fit
    • Call chiro from work and change Friday's appt - also more chance of cheque clearing after payday that way ;)
    • Remind OH to apply for the job I sent him the advert for...
    • Any pennies lying around are destined for the penny jar!
    • Get snacks for cinema tomorrow on way home from work tonight.
    • Not ironing my top for work :p I'll wear a scarf and you'll never see the line down the middle from where it's been folded funny :p
    • Finished knitting a 'soap saver' too - little knitted bamboo bag with lacy/holey pattern for me to keep the ends of bars of soap and then use that as a body puff type thing
    Happy Tuesday everyone!

Q for U: I know a few people have talked about this before but what spending diary android apps do you guys use? OH is looking for one. I never pay attention to what they may be called because I have an old-school phone :p (I am v jealous of OH's smart phone though and feel like I may soon have to upgrade... :o )

    Morning all

Today could be hideous at work so not making too many resolutions!

    [STRIKE]
    1. Photocopy P60 and include it with Open Univeristy financial support application for October course (this has been on my list since the weekend and would have been done yesterday only I forgot to bring my P60 into work to photocopy!!!)
[/STRIKE] done and FINALLY posted!!! Already had stamps so no spend there at least!

[STRIKE]2. Check online banking as two card payments should have debited, then only mobile bill left to come out this month :j[/STRIKE] both come out as expected, just mobile bill left as predicted...love to be right :)

[STRIKE]3. Have a LSD - today should have been a NSD and so should yesterday but it's all gone horribly wrong!!![/STRIKE] won't be spending any more today, actually not sure if this qualifies as a LSD - total is £6.59, approx. £5.80 more than planned!!! :(

[STRIKE]4. Bring lunch to work[/STRIKE] done and eaten!

    5. If I get time tonight, make a list of everything in my cupboards (I mean things like dry goods) so I can start to use things up a bit!!!

Have a great day everyone  x

    Tuesday.....here we go

    - Walked to work
    - Will be watching Stoke at home instead of the pub tonight (rare for me, since I don't have Sky Sports so it involves finding a stream online)
    - Drinking free work drinks instead of buying one with lunch.
    - Still need to list my tat on fleabay
