    Good morning

Thanks Pixie, glad to hear that you are happy with your decision.

La E sorry to hear that the you're not happy with flower preservation. As for Android saving apps, he could make a google document instead. Thats what we do. We have a form which links to a spreadsheet which does all the hard work for us.

I am not feeling to great, so I have called in sick. So today I will:
    • Make chicken stock - its on the stove
    • Check bank balance
    • Check surveys
    • Maybe chicken soup for lunch
    • Give the flat a sweep and mop
    • Tackle my paper pile
    • Continue going through my wardrobe. I have gone through the drawers and managed to reduce my t-shirts from 2 drawers to 1 drawer. Which is progress :D
    • Plan our excursions for Oz, I'm thinking Sydney
    • Continue job search
    • Dinner - asparagus risotto
    • Chill

I really wanted to share this blogpost that I read yesterday, it gave me that warm feeling and showed me what I might be able to do once I am debt free: http://www.bemorewithless.com/2011/how-my-starbucks-addition-fed-a-community/

Have a great day, I am sure I will be back.

Morning all:) Things have been so busy here of late that I took a few days off from the internet.

Thanks to pixie for starting us off today :)

Update on my poorly cat is that he is due for surgery on Friday. In the meantime he is resigned to being indoors, on cage rest. His leg's bothering him and making him very tired. Can't wait until he's back to rights again, although we know it will be weeks yet. The expense is quite substantial, but he is worth it, and fortunately, for once, the rest of life seems relatively inexpensive (barring car service tomorrow!).

    My list for the day:
    • checked online banking
    • check for surveys
    • lunch on leftovers
    • porridge all round for breakfast
    • dinner from stores/menu, using 50p Asda aubergine
    • spend bits of the day chatting with bored kitty ;)
    • yoga tonight
    • buy a bag of cat litter from neighbour, who has heaps
    • make soup for lunches tomorrow
    • ironing
    • vacuum, if I can find the vacuum cleaner!

I think that's it, apart from keeping/getting on top of tidying in the house.

Hope everyone has a good day :)

Really love hearing your lists LaE, think I live my life vicariously through this thread, lol, what job do you do?

Hope you get things sorted to your satisfaction

Uh, thanks ziggy! I might get back to the woman about the flowers. TBH I was just glad to get rid of it this morning and so disappointed after I saw it that I couldn't even be bothered talking to her about it and just wanted to send it back. If it had arrived in good condition then I maybe wouldn't have felt the same way about it. I've got two - one I kinda do like and one isn't as good as I'd hoped - might give that one to mum instead.

I've never really figured out how to post photos on this site - do you need to use a hosting site first??? - but as for a pattern, i did something like this:

CO 28 stitches (this makes the top of the bag - knitted from top down)
stocking stitch for a few rows
    knit 2, [k2tog, yo] 5times, k4, [k2tog, yo] 5 times, k2
    p
repeat these 2 rows until you have it about the size you want
stocking stitch for another few rows
transfer half your stitches onto another needle so you can mattress stitch across (or just cast off flat and sew it together)
    stitch up both sides

    :)

    (I'm a boring pensions consultant :p)

Oooh, shall have a wee look into google docs...

That's a lovely blog. Can't believe somebody felt the need to comment on her blog about how much she is wasting. Some people!

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Hello All,

Today is going to be a scary high spend day for me as the car is in the shop for service and mot...already had a call about three things needing to be done for it to pass, eek!

Aside from the car, today I will:
    - all meals from stores
    - check ebay and respond to messages from prospective buyers
    - check online banking
    - take my camera back to jessops and see if they can tell me why it stopped working all of a sudden (and hopefully get it fixed foc since it's only a few months old)
    - read papers online
    - work out budget for the rest of the month after the huge car bill
    - look for vouchers/offers for things to do this weekend

Hope everyone is having a great day :)

    Hello my lovelies!

Today is day 1 of my new job...(same company, but on the other team basically). So far so good, I hope I enjoy it :) The only downside is until the lady I am "replacing" replaces the lady going on maternity leave, I don't have a desk anymore...just using a station where the lady is off sick for 2 more weeks, don't know what's happening during the last 2 weeks after that, but hey ho.....just wish I felt like I had a place to call my own again.

Pixie - I'm glad you feel positive :)
La Escocesa - I use "Expense Manager" - it's free & really good imo! Hope you manage to get what you're after with the wedding flowers preservation thingymajig. How did you get them preserved out of interest? Is it really not worth it or was it just a bad supplier?
Rock_cakes - Well done on the decluttering, I need to do the same sharpish as my wardrobe is overflowing :o What "rules" did you use as to whether or not to keep things? I'm going to check out that blog on the rest of my lunch break.
Trajal - Aww your OH is a lucky lady!
Kev - Wishing your kitty a speedy recovery, & a small vet's bill for yourself!

    Right today I have/will:-
    • [STRIKE]Heating off [/STRIKE] - Briefly turned this on as it's FREEZING tonight
    • [STRIKE]Food from stores [/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Make use of free coffee/milk/water etc at work [/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Charge phone via pc, no spare plugs round this desk, grr![/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Log calories on free app[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Log any expenditure on free app - aiming for a NSD though[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Check for surveys[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Enter comps[/STRIKE]
    • Dinner from meal plan - Oopsie...treated ourselves to a takeaway again...really need to stop this :(
    • [STRIKE]Check emails & online banking[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Shift some funds around after OH's dentist appointment...[/STRIKE]
    • Read Miss Minimalist some more
    • [STRIKE]Washing on eco setting[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Hang up to dry[/STRIKE]
    • Make a start on decluttering
    • [STRIKE]Get at least 1 item ready for listing on ebay (Going to try & do 1 item a day I think as it's just not shifting atm!)[/STRIKE] - Success!
    • [STRIKE]Practice, practice, practice TKD! Grading tomorrow, eek![/STRIKE]
Have a great, moneysaving day everyone x
