    Hi Earthgirl

    Massive congrats - woohoo!

I am preggers too. 19 wks and 2 days and 20 wk scan tomorrow! Can't wait.

I didn't get much morning sickness (hope you don't suffer too much), but like Twinklie I found snack-a-jacks helped. MiL recommended arrowroot biscuits rather than ginger (you have to eat something like a kilo of them to take in enough ginger for it to have any effect)...!

    xx

Lixi - I am 19 weeks + 1 day, but still have 12 days to wait til 20 week scan! Hope yours goes well today.

Hope you manage to get something sorted for parents evening next week, that was quite dismissive of your boss, not at all constructive! Do you have a friend who could keep an eye on earthlet?

    Congratulations to viola and Lixi!

I know that people say that you should be cautious in the first 12 weeks, but not writing about it on here will not make me any less excited if you know what I mean, and I also would want to write about it on here if something dreadful did happen, so I feel its a safe place to discuss it really. I am aware that I am not to count my chickens at all at this point!

This morning I have been and compelted a massive shop (£48) and also ordered a jigsaw with an amazon voucher I had. I think I need to get ds some more educational games, but to be honest I know its the time I spend with him that will bring him on. The childminders are amazing, but as he is with a mix of ages, I don't think they focus too much onhis educational needs, more on the older ones - he does have fun there though! I am also going to speak to him in French as much as I can.

This morning I have also looked at nursery places for him - he needs to go not this september but the september after. I think I have found a good playgroup with morning and afternoon sessions which he can go to for £4 per session from 2 years 3 months (with me there) and 2yrs 6 months without me, so I might book him in for 2 sessions per week when I am on mat leave, so that he still gets plenty of interaction with other children and does group activities, but so that I don't end up sending him to the childminders (which is £22 per day) for that reason.

I collected 2 big bin bags of clothes for ds from an advert on preloved for £30. I am really pleased with them, works out at about 30p per item!! Only problem is that some of the jeans need rehemming, so I will take them up to mils in a couple of weeks. This means that apart from vests I have enough clothes for him for the next 3 years!

I am so tired, I went to bed at 8.30 last night, and have already had a nap today!!! I now have an hour to try and get some banking done, then I can update my sig.

    Big congratulations on the news!

Try not to let your boss stress you out, it's horrid when they try to make you feel bad like that. Could you maybe try to find a local babysitter to look after LO for a few hours during the parents evening? It must be hard not having the grandparents nearby.

Thanks summerday, we are normally fine and can swap things around as oh works from home. Its just the furneral that has made oh have to change our plans. I found out on Friday that my boss was 'mistaken' it is not directed time and I actually don't have to go! I have managed to find a kind neighbour who is willing to help, so I will go, but I am seething. I went to my boss for information and guidance and to be spokent to like that when I actually didn't have to go, and to be told the wrong information as well, just winds me up!

Rather unlike me, but my first mat appointment I have booked on an afternoon where I am teaching all afternoon and due to go to one of the meetings afterwards, ooops!

Got a bit sidetracked by it being such a nice day and ds, oh and I went to kick a ball around it the field instead, followed by colouring and playdoh. Lovely afternoon! Banking eventually done, and I made £600 last month tutoring and with various other surveys and msing. I have also transferred £2000 of my pay to savings as well.

I have also banked the cheque from my dad (£1,000) so should be able to transfer that to savings.

I have saved £31,740 since May 2011. With the extra above, I will make it over the £33,000 in February instead of May 2012. But who knows what the rest of 2012 will bring!!

Tell me about it Earthy...I'm on 12 hour sleeps at the minute. Doesn't leave a lot of time for having a life really. I've just had to quit my A-level marking because I'm falling asleep trying to do it I'm so tired. Figured it wasn't worth it - although the money would have been very handy.

Well done on everything, Earthy. You're doing brilliantly! Ooops to accidentally booking your mat appt on a very busy afternoon! Ah well...

Twinkle, first trimester tiredness can be a real killer so I understand you having to turn down the marking. I don't think it's possible to describe quite how tough the early pregnancy tiredness can be. It'll lift before you know it though
