I have just counted and I have 11 hours of tuition booked in this week - 12 different clients. I have decided that this is my maximum capacity, and will start a waiting list now. It is quite stressful trying to juggle everything. I need to do some planning for this as well.
Wow, 11 hours is certainly a lot when you have a full time job and a little one as well. I struggle when I hit 5 hours! It sounds sensible to start a waiting list, you don't want to give yourself too much stress. Take care.0

            Wow, well done having so many tuition clients and setting a limit.
My friend runs a private tuition business like you but it's her full-time job since recently leaving teaching. She wants to get some more clients but has never got any business from her website. Do you have any tips, without seeing the website, that I could pass onto her?Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120

            Earthgirl, have you thought about a cleaner? Not terribly money saving, but it is sanity saving, which can amount to the same thing!
Horrible to be having discussions with OH about something like cleaning when you're bringing in more than enough extra money from the tutoring.Borrowed £150,000 in an offset tracker mortgage in May 2007 - MFD May 2041 (67)

            No tips really, word of mouth and being findable on google is important I guess.
Well one tutee cancelled due to illness, so that made my week a little easier. I don't think that we need a cleaner, its not that bad yet, but I do need to keep on top of it a bit more.15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

            I have just turned 2 clients away - well told them that I am full until March anyway! And it feel kind of wrong - I always try to take as much as I can get, but I also need some time with lo and oh.
I have had a lovely weekend. Did 1 hours tuition yesterday, followed by playing outside with ds, and then tidying up - the place looks really nice now! We were going to go out for a cheap early bird tea, but neither of us could be bothered so we got the meal deal takeaway from the local indian, at £16 not very mse, but very enjoyable!!
I also managed to get ds 3 pairs of cl@rks slipers in assorted sizes for £5 on eb@y so as long as they are ok, I think thats a bit of a bargain. I am hoping mr t will do a double vouchers thing soon, so I can get ds some more nightwear and socks in bigger sizes (he is fine for another 6 months).
I have bought over the phone a couple of tickets for a show that some of my friends were going to. The person taking the booking on the phone was really abrupt and kept interrupting me when I was trying to ask questions and on reflection I don't really want to go, and I have no idea where I am going or how long for an I am just not happy with my purchase - it was really expensive and the seating options were not mentioned! I am going to phone back on Monday and try to cancel the purchase. I am not sure if it is covered by the distance selling regs or not?
Also I was being a bit ba humbug about a friend coming to stay in a few weeks, I really enjoy spending at least one day with oh and ds of a weekend, and she wants to come for the entire weekend. Anyway I have stopped being an ungrateful t**t and have started to plan lots of activities that will be either free or cheap and that ds will enjoy instead!!!
I have done a couple of hours school work this weekend, and I plan to have a week where I can mark lots of books and get things ship shape.
Still to do:
*weekly plan including meal plan
*cook roast chicking and trimmings and leave some chicken for tomorrow
* make an apple and blackberry crumble with berries I found in the freezer!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

            It's hard to balance friends and family life, especially when working full time (and the rest for you!). Definitely set the agenda, and there is something lovely about putting DD to bed and having a night in with a bottle of wine with a friend after, especially when I know we did stuff DD wanted to do in the day. Plus she's learnt how to share me with others, and how to interact with other adults through spending time with various friends of mine.
You are doing amazingly on the tutoring - but an even bigger well done for putting your family time first and turning down the other tutees. It wouldn't have been fair on you or them to take them on when you have other priorities. :TMortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

            Thanks, and I know that I am doing the right thing!
I have loads to do at work at the moment, as I want to get all marked and planned well ahead. I want to make sure that my life is as stress free as possible for the sake of my health and relationships!
I have 'sold' the ticket to the show to someone else, and I am happy about that - it was going to be such a pain to see a friend for a while, when I can quite easily sort something else out that will be a lot nicer and cheaper!!
I did my weekly shop £55 quite expensive, but nappies were half price so I stocked up for Feb.
I also bought most of the ingredients for yummy chocolate cupcakes for oh for valentines day.
Piorities this week:
*ensure family is happy and healthy.
- stay relaxed at work. Plan stress free lessons where possible.
* spend quality time with DS and OH
1 x outing with lo and 1x activity with oh this weekend.
* get the house organised
do a little cleaning and tidying every day.
* save £10K by May 2012
- put cheque and cash into bank.
* Always get the best deal
- nip into the community shop the night when I have cancelled tutorings and see if I can get some nice 2nd hand clothes for ds for later in the year. Its a bit hit and miss so you just have to keep going till you get what you want, but its so cheap.
*No Presents or Cards spends
- make valentines card. Plan out presents and cards needed for the rest of the year.
My period is 6 days late but I am so stingy that I wouldn't buy a test (£3.45 in mr T!!) so I am going to ask the doctors to confirm or not later!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j
