aw honey. I think you have an idea where you want to be but you have to enjoy the journey too.

I have a no work on weekends rule, i got to the point where i was sitting the kids in front of tv on sat morning to catch up on work!!! then shouting at them when they were trying to talk to me :o I know its different with your tutoring but you need to make quality time.

Like someone said, getting a cleaner, dropping a couple tutorials etc will free up alot more time. As will having time to chill out before bedtime, i'm a bit of a geek but i write lists, then can sleep in the knowlege i havent forgot anything, plus it motivates me when they get crossed off.

Thanks wabl and brodie bobs - a list sounds lovely - I wish I could make time to write a list - I just seem to be firefighting all the time!

Right I will do a list tomorrow, with lots of sections and small things that I can tick off.

Just a quick post to say that I am feeling better and I had my feedback on the lesson observation and it was very very positive - in fact the head couldn't suggest any way in which I could improve the lesson. He also made an odd comment that I was a very useful member of staff and can teach ICT, Child development, French and German, which is kind of an odd thing to say as we are going to be in a redundacy situation soon. Anyway, I feel really positive at the moment.

Was it worth it though??? Who cares - I am just going to enjoy the small successes!

  • The head was telling you not to worry about redundancy and to keep on with your good work, not odd at all, he just can't be too obvious about it. x

I hope its that Grateful, I really do. Anyway he must have been quite impressed as he wheeled the mayoress in on Friday to watch a lesson of mine. Thankfully I was doing good stuff, but I was pretty exhausted. I worked until 8.30pm on Friday night - I took my entire intray home and sorted it out, putting it all on a big list an prioritising it so I feel much better now.

I have been to my speed awareness this morning - what an ordeal - 4 hours of being lectured. The messages were really good and I learnt a lot about why I speed and what speed limits are in certain places, but it could have done with a little bit of interaction! I have pledged to concentrate fully on driving, and to allow more time for my journey. The important thing is that I don't hit anyone or anything, so hopefully it has been a good lesson for me.

I have done a little bit of lesson planning today, one tutoring client, and then just palyed with the baby - he loves being outside.

Tomorrow I plan to get up early to try and make as much headway as possible before everybody gets up
1-do 1 pile of marking and finish my lesson planning.
    2- clean and tidy house
3 - do something nice with baby - maybe fingerpainting, and a 'walk' he loves just walking around and pointing to things outside.
4 - possibly a little decluttering but this may have to wait
5- do some banking and admin.
6 - cook roast dinner later on.

Our nice thing this weekend has been a takeaway again tonight - lovely and no dishes, but not good for the waistline or the pocket (oh paid). Next week I will be more energetic and creative and do somethign nice together without spending as much, in fact I want to get back in control of our spending a lot more.

Glad your course is over and done with. Sounds like you have quite a day planned but don't over-do it. I think your savings for the month show how in control of spending you are, you deserved the take away and the break it gave you from cooking and washing up.

Thanks all, I have had a productive few days. I got up early on Sunday and did loads of marking, and I have done more little bits of marking here and there, and it means that this weekend I really don't have to bring any home yey!! I am going to try to get all planned for next week as well. Working (i think 6 hours in total) last weekend has made me feel much happier, and if I do it when baby is asleep either early in the morning or his nap time, then it really doesn't have an effect on my weekend.

OH helped me to clean the house again (this is great!) and in return I managed to do 2 hours on his business. He wants to pay me to do this, as he says its the only way he can guarentee I do it - thats quite sad really! He has already paid me £20 for this week in advance, so I need to do a couple of hours on it!

Can you all rack your brains and think of nice stuff I can do with oh that baby can be around for as well at the weekend (for free or very cheap)?? Takeaways are just too lazy and I want something to look forward to.

Glad you have had a constructive few days, it helps give you some perspective doesn't it. I'll be interested in the ideas of what to do with the family, we always end up spending money when we do things together.
