    Thanks WABL!

Yes there are redundancies coming up, and it does feel like everyone for themselves at the moment. Everyone is worreid that they might do away with their job and put our dept in with another, so naturally we are all a bit under attack! Oh well such is life!

I have deleted my big whingy post as I don't want anyone to see who I am in RL and know all that stuff (a la michelle). But what an amazing help it is to write it all down and work though the emotions - it changed my mood completely and this diary is such a positive force in my life - I must fill it in more - as are all the comments from lovely posters.

So today I have a mega day. Work all day (chance to get really sorted I hope) plus 2 tutorings after school (the last one leaves at 6.30pm) and then people round to ours at 6.35pm for a party! We are going out afterwards as well. phew

Hi EG, I read your post last night but didn't have time to comment. Hope you are feeling more positive about things now.

Sounds like you have a busy evening planned - enjoy it.

Thanks everybody and I am sorry I had to delete, I am just very worried that someone reads this who knows me, with it all being a bit political at work!

I have spent babys nap time getting ready for work this week. Tomorrows nap time will be spent marking. We are having 'drop in' observations by our boss on Monday - Tue, so that means at any point I might be hauled over the coals again. I can only do my best!!

Last night was good, but a neighbour didn't have enough cash for the bar bill (we wnt to the local) so oh subbed him £10. I just know that he has no intention of every repaying, and oh has no intention of ever asking him - he would be embarrassed. I think I might though.. not sure how to do it though?Anyone ever done this and could give some advice? :)

I popped out this morning and picked up my bargain olay stuff from Tesco, and got a free lego toy, I never get these so I was there before the shop opened! I have since completed a private lesson and changed the beds. This afternoon I plan to do Christmas - finish all the cards, presents and decorations. HM curry tonight with a free lovefilm dvd. Life is good (on the whole!)

    Hi EG
Long Time Lurker here ! FWIW I wouldn't go asking for that tenner back! It would be embarrassing for your OH and neighbour and look really miserly on your part  If you enjoyed your evening, just let it go......!
Don't fret about redundancies as it will be offered on a voluntary basis and I can guarantee there will be plenty of older teachers that will take it gladly( and that may include your boss!:p)

Thanks Biglass re the advice about repaying the tenner - I think if it had been more, we could have asked for it, but a tenner is just a tenner... I went over on Sunday hoping he would bring it up, but he didn't - so its annoying but I suppose I will just have to write it off as you say!

I have had another dreadful morning at work, cumulating in a boy threatening to 'knock me out' and doing punching actions at me because I was trying to set homework. I have reported it but nothing will get done, it really is shocking behaviour here at the moment. Adding to the the amount of observations (in total 3 in 4 weeks!) and scrutinies of books and planners we have I feel like I am going to have a meltdown!!

I am just going to take it each day at a time. I wasn't going to mention it really, but we are trying for a baby, and the stress can't be helping - I have to put my health and our family first.

Oh Earthy, poor you. It is only 4 more get-ups to go but I know how long a week can last in teaching during the really tough times.

That boy's behaviour is disgusting and as teachers we quite simply should not be expected to take that. At the very least he should not be allowed in your lessons until you've received an apology.

I'm wishing you super speedy sticky baby vibes. With getting my new job and it only being a temp contract I am very torn about whether we should start trying again now or leave it another year.

It didn't feel like it at the time but my old work refusing my pt request was a blessing and has opened up new opportunities. If they had agreed I would have stayed somewhere where I was unhappy, I wouldn't be tutoring and I wouldn't have got the chance to make a fresh start and learn new ways of doing things. I know the idea of redundancy must be terrible but you are mortgage free so don't have the worry of losing your home and maybe, just maybe, not putting yourself through this and missing LO as you do won't be as bad as you fear

    Thinking of you xx
