Hi was wondering if anyone could help
I went to my local total petrol station recently and as I was driving towards I look at they where charging for diesel. On the board it said 137.9 but when I drove into the petrol station and pulled up and started filling up the petrol pump display 143.9 . When I went inside and question it and the gentleman was very rude and said it was not his problem and was not wiling to do anything about it. I have email total and they are upto now not willing to help.
Does anyone know who I could contact regarding this if total do not do anything as I think that this is very wrong in what the station is doing and should not get away with it
Thank you for reading this thread and any infomation would be helpful

Well your local trading standards might be interested.
But if this was a short term problem - price on pumps changed, but that on the signs changed a short while later, there's not much will happen. Yes, they should have done it the other way round but it isn't that big a deal. Different matter if it's like that for days
It's quite possible the gentleman inside had no control over it if he was just hired help. And if it's a franchised ststion, Total don't either. It's the franchisee or his possibly absentee manager.0 -
maybe you filled up with the premium diesel some stations have two different grades on the pumpssquaaaaaaaaacccckkkkkk!!!! :money:0

They have Total Excellium Diesel as their premium diesel fuel. Maybe the you fill up with this and the guy thought you were disputing the price between the premium and standard fuel. The man without a signature.0 -
No the only have one type of diesel there the guy even confirmed it to me0

In that case then Trading Standards. Ask them also when they last performed a Weights & Measures check on the garage. The man without a signature.0

Take a photo of the sign outside, complain to Total (even a franchise is likely to have some regulations from Total) and complain to trading standards.
You might not get any money back (6p x 100 litres isn't going to change your life) but you might get some satisfaction? :cool:0 -
Thanks for the info I will contact them and see what happens0

But what could trading standards do? pricing errors happen all the time especially in supermarkets and if the price advertised is wrong they dont have to honour it.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0
