My house may still have clutter but I am really starting to feel like it is clean, or getting there anyway. Seeing as there is less outside the cupboards etc to tidy I have been concentrating on cleaning during my daily 5 minutes in each room...I am running out of things to clean. Everything in the bedroom has been pulled out and vac'd behind apart from the bed and I have even started cleaning the walls in the bathroom. I think I may alternate 1 week cleaning and 1 week decluttering so I can really get this place as I want it. It may never happen but at least I am giving it a go. I have vac'd so many spiders it is unreal and I know they will all come out now but if they dare I will be ready :rotfl: so Pigpen thanks a lot for the lists and thanks to everyone else for the support. To all newbies, it takes time (and I'm still quite a way away) but is definately worth sticking with it.

Tuesday ~ Living Room, Hall and Stairs
    Level 1
sort out insurance policies that need renewing soon!!I have a car insurance quote and am going to ring my current insurer tomorrow to see if they will match it will not cross off yet as I want to do a price match on my life insurance.

    Level Three
Empty and clean out all the upstairs bins! (the proper bins not the rooms that look like bins!)

My list for the rest of today
Start filling out forms for passport in my married name
Need to check a couple of things with the post office tomorrow. It is strange filling a form in with a name I don't have yet. I need to practise my signature before I finish it, hadn't even thought about that yet!

I'm really pleased for you ajmoney - I can't see me ever getting to that stage due to the sheer amount of clutter DH and DD have but I'm working on it very slowly. DH is very resistant to me getting rid of anything because he seems convinced it will come come in useful some day (even an 8 year old plaster cast that came off his leg when he broke it whilst I was pg with DD - I did you not ). Slowly slowly catchy monkey.

Had a lovely evening with the kids; GP has given DD some drops for her ears, thankfully it's not an ear infection but swimmers ear or similar and should clear up fine. Got DD some new shoes, I've ordered some and then we went to that fine eating establishment MaccyDs and ate a very healthy tea ... not!

Kids both in bed, dog clean now but can't say the same for the bath - once I am sure kids are asleep I'll go up and clean the bath. I've done my washing up (didn't do it yesterday, naughty me) and am now going to start the 2 typing jobs I have to do. Then, if I'm finished at a good time, may do the ironing. There's always something to do isn't there!

Hello people. :) You probably won't remember me, but i used to post on here a while back before DS was born. I found it mega useful, but when he came along i pretty much abandoned any hope of keeping up with the housework and did what i could.

Now he's 7 months old and we've come to the point where i feel life kind of normalising a little. I've started my menu planning again and am ready to get back on the flylady train. CHOO CHOO! :j

The state of the house isn't tooooo bad. It's pretty mucky in places where i just don't get in to clean because of other priorities. There is also one room in particular that is a HUGE RoD containing all kinds of rubbish, but it's so overwhelming i just let it continue to pile up! I am hoping that by keeping up with you guys and doing level one each day to start with i will be able to turn it around.

My main problem is figuring out how to do this around two kids. I've got a 2 year old and a 7 month old. What does anyone else with kids a similar age do? DD will watch TV for a while but DS can be quite clingy and only sleeps 2/3 half hour naps in the day. DD doesn't nap at all. Plus of course i seem to spend the vast majority of my time dressing, washing, changing, feeding and entertaining them. As you do. It seems to leave barely any time for anything else at all. Especially on days where we go to group etc.

Looking forward to seeing the list for tomorrow so i can get my game head on! :T

Good to see you Uprora. When mine were that age I got very little done, but I tried hard to use every opportunity to the maximum. If I got half an hour I didn't switch the pc on/make a drink/put the TV on, I just got on whilst I had the chance. Mind you, getting 3 minutes to clean your teeth at that stage was luxury! Finding something for 1 to do whilst 2 sleeps works up to a point. Mine liked dusting, and using his pretend dyson and I encouraged that as much as I could. Also the bissell floor cleaner things was a much loved toddler toy - see here

Huge hugs for you. Wallow for a while at the injustice of it and then tame that rage into productive job searching.

mozzy nice to see you :D hope you are still happy to be there:D
embb sounds promising - will keep everything crossed for you - get decluttering while you have the chance - then you will be able to move much quicker - make sure you have satnav or GPS if you venture into DS's room - we dont want you to get lost:p:D:rotfl:
seafarers hope the completion goes to plan and you will finally be proud owners of a house
Feel really down this morning, everywhere I look needs attention, just don't know where to start :(

I never get any time on my own to have a really good crack at the cleaning. My OH thinks I'm mad that a messy house makes me feel low, he just doesn't see it.
Hi Pixie have a (((hug))) for starters. Stop looking at the whole picture - just concentrate on one thing - one dot - a chair a coffee table, the top of the microwave, a worktop, the sink or whatever - just pick the one thing that is bugging you and do that and do it properly not just move the stuff - deal with it and then step back and look at it and see how good it is - then pick something else - another dot and do the same - forget the lists for now and concentrate on getting a few things under control - you can and will do this and your house will be so much better - do not give up - do not get upset - it is only mess and clutter and it is not permanent - it can be changed and you can make it beautiful. As for DH does he help you - if not why not? Anyone who lives in the house is equally responsible for keeping it tidy and clean no matter how samll a job it all helps - you can train yourself to do things against the kettle boiling - you need routines so that things are done by habit and as a result life gets easier and you get time to do things that you enjoy. sorry for the long rant!

SSl oh no poor Nan - healing hugs for her leg and hope the funeral goes ok and Happy 70th to your Dad (((hugs))) xx
Kazw thats great news about the meds - GP must have been well pleased for you - you are inspiring me to keep trying xx
Dusty well done for surviving the dentist hope you are not too sore now (((hugs)))
Mumof2 you are doing really well this week and it must have been nice to speak to DH:T:D I would agree with the others that its probably the floor. Have you started on DH's filing - can you declitter his 'treasures' into one place like a shed or a garage - at least then it would be out from under your feet and he could deal with it at his leisure??
tooch you sound more focussed today and have been busy - keep at it honey - you know you can do it and get decluttering stuff onto ebay - make it your 'moving fund'????? Scarey stuff about the attempted abduction - sounds like a good warning system -thank goodness your DD and her pals are well taken care off.
G&B I agree - I see some really little ones going home on their onw and it bothers me too.
uropachild of course we remember you - is it really 7 months since your wee man arrived - my goodness - hope he is doing ok - you did the right thing I am sure by concentrating on what you could manage - and as lots of the other mums will say 'they are only little for a short time so enjoy' - now that you have rountines working you just need to try to do a few extr bits in between feeding or naps although you probably need tiem to have a breather yourself - I hope Dh and friends etc have helped - accept it all - dont be too hard on yourself maybe try to do something every week that has been neglected - it might take you all week to do it but it can be done - like getting into corners and skirtings you could aim to do one wall a day?

awh honey (((hugs))) the situation sucks  but if you now have decided you dont want to be there then start working towards getting out into something better - it will be their loss - get you CV dug out and updated for starters - come on sweetpea - you can do this and show them what you are really worth.
jenny pushing yourself when you are already tired is not going to help your energy levels - maybe a shart nap would but if its the evening then you are then maybe causing trouble for yourself come bedtime - maybe you are needing the sleep more so try going to be at the same time verynight for a week and see how you feel during the day - it doesnt sound to me like you need to be disciplining yourself it sounds like you need the rest. if a proper full night's sleep is not helping then maybe you should see your GP for a check up.

love and hugs to everyone especially Lady L

    toots xx
