Pile of paperwork sorted and binned, filed or rehomed. Hob, surrounding tiles, more wortops and the kitchen door cleaned and buffed. Fancy another cuppa now but no milk so going to put the kettle on, pop to the shop, make a cuppa and crack on with the rest of the kitchen. Will then update list and see what else I can get on with....xx
  • Okay so I'm really behind this week, and right now DS is sleeping and will be for a while, and DD is happily playing with her toy horses by herself.... and OH is sat playing on his playstation (why do I get less done when he is here?). So, I have half an hour till lunchtime to do things, and as long as DD behaves another hour or so afterwards till I drop her at her dads, then the afternoon assuming DS doesn't want to constantly feed. I'm making my own list for today, I need to catch up while I have the energy. I think I should be able to get all this done today

    Do the dishes
    Clean the sink
Clean the sides + small appliances
Bin any rubbish from the kitchen
Sort through the fridge and throw old food out
Give the inside of the fridge a wipe down
Clean the hob (oven is done after cooking each time otherwise it smokes the place out)
    Put clean clothes away
Do the laundry + dry it + put away again
Organise DS 'clothes box' in the front room as it's become a dumping ground for clothes (clean and dirty) , muslins and nappies
    Clean DD's table
Sort toys out and put away as necessary
    Hoover Living room and kitchen
    Mop kitchen floor
    De-clutter coffee table
Sort out one of 'those' corners in the living room
If time, try and finish doing the desk of doom... it's not too bad anymore thanks to a quick 10min here and there

For later in the week or today if I have time

Clean the bath and sink in bathroom
    Clean the toilet
    Organise bathroom shelf
Throw out bath toys that have gone green on the inside and are past saving
Replace said bath toys before it's noticed they've been binned
    Mop bathroom floor
Change main bedroom bedsheets + wash

Now I just need a kick to get my bum into gear and actually start doing this without thinking 'oh I just check this first... or I just want a drink first'
Mummy to beautiful 5yr old girl and a gorgeous 1yr old boy:D

having a mooch around youtube/ebay/material suppliers for supplies to make tutus as you do :rotfl::rotfl: Some of the girls in work are doing the local race for life and were going to pay £7 EACH to buy tutus so I said I'd make them for them instead. Pretty sure I can come up with 6 or so of them without spending £7 each ;) Everyone is skint and trying to come up with costumes as cheap as possible...I feel tomorrows lunchtime conversations could be interesting and actually contributed to by me a lot more than usual about cheaper ways to do what they want to do ;):money:
*is puzzled* I thought the idea was to raise money for a worthy cause, not spend a fortune on a fancy outfit..... Good for you for offering to make their outfits for them.:money:I'd love to take part in something like that, but I'd have to find someone to help push the wheelchair - I can't self-propel more than 50 yards or so before my arms give out!:rotfl:
Oh.... and posi-vibes for the job, of course.;)

SSL (((HUGS))) for you and yours, and major healing vibes for your Nan.

Aj I was going to suggest practising your new signature, but I see you already thought of that.;) I remember finding it very strange to be signing my new name.:D

I'm not having a good day today; probably due to feeling mega-stressed about the holiday c0ck-up.:( Mr LW is going to see what he can do to at least salvage some of the holiday for us.

My joints are very painful today, so I'm going to try a little gentle yoga before I tackle any Flying, I think; see if I can loosen them up a bit, specially as cleaning the bath does strange and unpleasant things to my back.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Afternoon all

Been to the dentist for a filling, which ended up being much bigger than I thought so needed an injection - face is still numb but I've managed to eat my lunch on the other side so won't be grumpy from a sugar dip.

    SSL love to your Nana

mOZzy - I didn't know you were back on the thread - g'day cobber

Going to have a cuppa and finish my dailies, can't decide whether to do any flying or not.

Feel really down this morning, everywhere I look needs attention, just don't know where to start :(

I never get any time on my own to have a really good crack at the cleaning. My OH thinks I'm mad that a messy house makes me feel low, he just doesn't see it.

Big hugs for you; I sometimes just don't know where to start as everywhere is carnage :o. Just try to take a deep breath, relax and perhaps start in the area you are in the most (kitchen/front room maybe), set aside say 15 minutes and just do what you can in that time. At least then you'll have made a start and sometimes looking at the mess and thinking about it is much worse than rolling up your sleeves and trying to tackle it. When I do this it invariably lifts me and I find I can do another 15 minutes in another room and so it goes on.

As for OH thinking you're mad saying a messy house makes you low - well I completely get what you are saying and I'm exactly the same too. It really saps the energy/strength out of you and I can get really depressed if there's carp all around me. My DH walks through with muddy boots on and says it's OK the mud will dry and then I (ie me, not him) can vacuum it up :mad:. What is it with men?

Go on, try the timer and see how you go x
Things are not good this morning. After my chauffeuring yesterday, I dropped Nana and Mum off. Nana fell going up the stairs and has burst her leg open. The nurse came round last night and is coming back this morning. Nana's sister died on Sunday and we've got the funeral tomorrow. Which happens to be my Dad's 70th birthday. I'm popping over to Mum's in a wee while to babysit Nana.

So sorry to hear about your Nana and everything going on. Sending healing vibes to her and coping vibes to you x

I'm feeling a bit cross, DD has a new bloke in her life after dumping a toxic husband last year. BUT, she doesn't want him to come to our house because of the mess  The thing is, she hasn't been here for over 6 months, so she doesn't know what it looks like since I have been flying AND we always made the place presentable if we had someone visiting anyway, even if it meant throwing everything into the ROD. I don't know how to react, :(

Can you tell her how it makes you feel and that you have been really busy flying so the house is more presentable? You're her Mum, she shouldn't be ashamed and I can understand why you feel hurt - I would too :(.

Nicki, good luck to you for the interview.

LW, sorry you're feeling rough today honey, do your yoga and gentle stretching and then if you can't do any more don't worry about it - you must take care of yourself. Do you have a relaxation tape you can listen to so you don't feel as anxious about the holiday problems? In therapy yesterday I learnt just how important it is that we relax (something I'm not very good at :o). Take care Twinnie x

Hard session at Basics Maths this morning and we've been given a practise paper to have a go at and mark at next week's session; I haven't dared to look at it really yet! Got to take DD to the GP after school cos her ear is aching and I don't want to just ignore it hence must pick her up early from school cos I have to get DS from nursery cos DH is away.

Going to do my typing after I've finished lunch, tackle the bathroom, walk the dog and then see how I'm doing for time.

Bit of a grim question here but it has to be asked so here goes .... my lovely little son S who is 4 is using the toilet reliably but his aim isn't 'all that' and sometimes he forgets to pull the flush. The downstairs toilet is under the stairs and is just a toilet under the stairs - DH plans to fit a shower etc under there and there is no wall or anything like that; it's literally just a toilet under the stairs.

Now my problem is no matter how hard I clean, I can still smell wee .... sorry to be gross but it's true. I bleached the toilet yesterday and gave it a good scrub after a few hours and I've popped in one of those lemon thingies that goes in the actual cistern in the hope it will freshen it up but doesn't seem to be working. I'm not keen on air fresheners that stink the house out (neither is DH) but I'm not sure what to do to get rid of the niff that I can detect. I have a very good sense of smell, perhaps a bit over sensitive, but I know it's there.

    Any ideas please?

I have a postcard on the kitchen door that says: "Make yourself at home, clean my kitchen". As many of our visitors have no idea of the concept of cleaning, I don't think they know why it's there:rotfl:

However, someone did once wipe her feet on the way out of this flat. Then again, she has cream carpets and a cream sofa... *rolls eyes*

Having just received notification of 2 days free Ebay listing this weekend, I think I know what I'm up to this week: decluttering, photographing and sorting out a few more storage boxes... oh, and charging the camera!(Which is still next to the monitor under that pile of paper and the Amazon sale that needs posting.:D)

Hugs and spoons to all flyladies, especially those moving house.

Is it the floor covering around the loo, rather than the loo itself?
Is there any ventilation in the room apart from leaving the door open? If not, and as you're working on it being a shower room, might it be worth considering the installation of a fan now? Sorry, I know that's a bit of an expensive solution!
