Sold a car from Carcraft that has been clocked

I have also spoken to the company that set up the finance, they are going to investigate the matter with carcraft on my behalf.0

Investigate why someone did not kick up a fuss that someone made an obvious error when keying in the mileages?
Explain the mileage mistake when selling and you wont lose out.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Okay, to get more technical then -Selling a car with clocked mileage is an offence. Either way, OP has right to take Car Craft to small claims

- To be even more technical "selling a clocked car, without telling the buyer that it is or may be clocked" is illegal
That's better.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
Care to tell us what "offence" that is?
Also, again there is no physical evidence that this car has been clocked.
Misleading advertising? Misrepresentation? Fraud? Just a guess, but there are probably many to choose from. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

If as you state in the openingI still have an outstanding balance on the car and I am wondering where i stand on being sold misleading product???
as you have an outstanding balance on the car, then you cannot sell it on as until you have paid in full the car is not yours0 -
No he hasn't

All he's saying is that he's just been told be someone at carcraft that they HPI'd cars when they themselves purchase the car, not that the OP had one done for him, or indeed he requested one, when HE purchased the car.
When they purchase their cars, means the car they purchased in order to sell to the OP. There was ambiguity in that all. He was not told "some" of their cars, but "their cars."The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
Again nowhere has the OP stated that Carcraft, at the time of selling him the car stated that they had HPI checked this particular car and it was HPI clear, I totally agree had they done so then the OP would have a much stronger case than he has.
But then, the onus is not on the consumer to check these things, it is on the dealer. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

The OP has not said he isn't going to settle the finance. What has this got to with the subject at hand? The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
I sense some serious tension in this thread LOL0

Of course the consumer has to do his own checks. If I purchased a car I'd do an HPI check and satisfy myself that the car purchased is legit, I would then fully expect the person buying the car from me would do their own checks to satisfy themselves rather than rely on the check I did. This is no different in what the dealer has done, they've had a check done when they purchased and would have satisfied that the mileage was consistant with the age of the vehicle, it was up to the OP to do his own and satisfy himself. But then, the onus is not on the consumer to check these things, it is on the dealer.0
