MSE pages loading slowly [Merged]

o Matter what time of day or evening I log on, and no matter from which computer (home or work, both fast connections speeds) this site is IMMENSELY slow!! ... Anything that can be done about it? I fully support this site and appreciate the advice etc on here, but a few times I've completely given up as the pages take forever to load!!

You must be unlucky and hit the site at busy times.
As with any site, it can slow down due to heavy traffic, the past couple days, I have received messages that the site is under load, so I'm sure the webmasters are aware.0 -
Has anyone else noticed that it takes ages to load pages on MSE and that every now and then you get a page asking you to come back soon?(Well it says something like that). Has Martin's site become so popular that it needs better servers or have I got something wrong with my new laptop that is making it slow?0

It's happening to me a lot - it's quite offputting actually. I expect the techie people are working at increasing server capacity or somethng.Touch my food ... Feel my fork!0

I think Martin has mentioned that they are aiming to do a server upgrae sometime soon which will help with the performance issues.
( I have a hunch he's just invested in some red bull for the hidden server hamsters so they run faster ! )

Are you using Tiscali as your ISP? This site was slow for me until I put in my DNS settings that Tiscali gave me:
