I think it's the same sort of linkages, same layout, and no difference in the haynes manual.

If you've no longer got your 106 do you want to part with that Haynes manual? ;)

    It's still going well.
The manual was a fiver off ebay, delivered.

I need to replace the speedo cable too - any ideas?

    Good luck.
I need to put a couple of bulbs in, it seems over complicated to get the speedo out, so I haven't bothered yet. I think you need to get the manual.

I might just not bother - it works, just has a serious case of the mental

(I'm going to get a manual anyway though)

If the needle just bounces about, I wouldn't worry about it, as it's common on French cars. If it snaps it should be a fairly simple job as the cable runs from the gearbox to the bulkhead (all quite accessible I believe)

As somebidy that cut his motoring teeth on Renaults and Peugeots.

The wobbly speedo is very common, almost all do it after a few years.

I believe it is prevalent with many Jaegar clocks, spelling may be wrong.

It is a pain in the bum but until they stopped using cables yiu just let it go till it breaks, which they rarely do, my dad had ir replaced on his 305, it stopped for a few weeks then back to normal.

Now you have a cheap smoker, just keep the oil clean, give it a proper service, oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel.filter, plugs and dizzy cap and rotor arm are all cheap to change, any slight misfires or rough running make aure the HT leads are in decent nick.

As far as the gear linkages goes they are a common issue on Pugs, you can still get kits for the likes of the 205 so i reckon they will be around for the 106.

Try not to spend too much on it, as it is just an old smoker, though i have a sneaky feeling you might prefer it to your Kia Picanto.

They handle like a gokart with a few minor modifications!

Kilty just use the Picanto and have it clocked back to where it started when you're done. :D
