    Hey guys

    -
-BOS will take on the 'Lloyds' range of accounts. The URCA will only be offered by Halifax, as BOS will switch to Premier, Platinum, Gold and Silver account. BOS accounts will also switch to credit/debit interest and receive credit interest with vantage.

so will BOS customers already with URCA be given the option to transfer over to Halifax to keep the account ?

Opinions4u suggested in post 3 that they may keep existing customers on their original accounts, but simply not make them available to new customers.

This makes sense, given that it appears that customers have not yet been told of the change, and if they were going to transfer all BOS customers to a LTSB product they'd need to give 2 months' notice.

I just spoke to Bank of Scotland about this and they know the computer is being updated in July, but nothing of the change in current account structure. But then it was front line staff who usually are the last to know.

I agree with o4u. Although always interesting to get tidbits of information from staff, this thread is turning in to a bit of a free for all of possibly spurious information and almost all of it (well, any bits that are true) is commercially sensitive.

It's more a warning to those posting. Remember, Halifax have an MSE Representative on the forum, so be under no illusions that LBG's Press Office (at the very least) are aware of these threads. It may be an anonymous forum, but be careful. Anyone know what happened to BarclaysManager? Perhaps unrelated, but I thought he was a victim of an over zealous employer.
Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.

And ShelfStacker, who worked for HSBC?

I was previously contacted by PM on this site by one of my former employers (a large financial services organisation). They didn't know who I was, but asked if I wanted to meet with them to discuss becoming an official company rep on MSE. Unfortunately, I'd already left by then. However I didn't make any commercially sensitive posts - everything I mentioned was available to the public either online or was just standard information given when customers phoned up.

He changed his username, and then continued posting for some time under the new name. Hasn't posted for over a year now though.

*Will stop MSE-stalking now and do something productive instead*

Can I just confirm I will have no changes to my BOS account? I just have a normal current account, no overdraft with them as had a bit of trouble with them over the last few years. All I have is standing orders set up for the 1st of the month after I get paid on the last day of the month. Will I have any changes? I hope not, i'm quite happy with my account as it is!

    Thank you in advance.

You can't confirm anything at the moment, since nothing has been announced yet.

This whole thread is nothing but speculation.

If there are any changes that affect you, then they'll write to you giving loads of notice before the change takes effect.

I have had someone very high up in the Bank of Scotland confirm to me that this is indeed correct, BoS a/c's will be mirroring those of Lloyds TSB (Halifax remaining as is) and a new computer system will be put in in July that allows upgrades of accounts.
