We are now on MSE site ...the thread is on Landlordzone.co.uk :

    http://www.landlordzone.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?38319-mtg-banned

A lot of regular long standing members are not having a party over the way the forum has been "run" recently so a few of us are here "avin achat" where posts cannot be deleted or abused !!!
My posts are my opinion which is neither right nor wrong.

Very Odd - Don't know what that is all about !

It looks like one members user name has been copied without the "e".

I understand that the post that was the final straw has been removed.

Not 'kicked off the site' just a series of disagreements about certain developments regarding moderation and various strange goings on. The site will survive it I'm sure, but they are going to have to train up a whole new lot of posters for certain forums. I've no idea how many will return, or even leave, that is for each individual to decide. Personally I was insulted after receiving an infraction notice for a very mild expression to a stupid poster and decided to leave (as westminster put it) without even flouncing.

Incidentally, all this happened in the forum called 'Take a break' where we played and told jokes and generally messed about. Absolutely nothing was ever said in the parts of the forum that dealt with serious stuff.

Then the happenings on Friday were fast and furious, the thread itself has been decimated and will probably be deleted.

    When it comes to the debate "wot we woz framed wiv" in the other place, under the Council House thread on MSE I found this gem;

"you said that if you were to stop working and get a 'slapper' knocked up you'd be more likely to get a council house" :D

Stop! Think. Read the small print. Trust nothing and assume that it is your responsibility. That way it rarely goes wrong.

Which post do you mean, please? I know you can't quote it as it has disappeared, but could you give us the gist of it? Who said what to whom?

A certain thread from another place is now No 1 on Google on pages for the UK :D

...and could someone please explain that one to me, too. (I'm right in the vanguard of internet savoir-faire, as you've probably worked out! Or just a bit dim).

I assume you are asking about my post here from last night?

I've just been into LLZ and its still there. In the "Banned" thread, post 224.

    Text is here:
Sorry to sound obtuse this is Izzycam, does anyone know why my name has been changed to leasehold answers and why I have to keep changing my password all the time, is it anything to do with being a rebel for the cause of MTG!
Her user ID/member name on the screen as been changed to "Leashold answers" (no 'e') and she doesn't know why or how!

But the original Leasehold answers is still posting as themselves too!

That is indeed bizarre. I don't know enough about how the vbulletin technology works to explain it, but does it suggest someone has hacked into her account to change her user profile?

However, I have noticed that very little moderation goes on over the weekend on LLZ and certainly none on Saturdays. There have been some appalling posts left online before now, right from early Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon or even Monday before being attended to. For that reason alone, I'd say it isn't likely to be the Moderator who has done the hacking and it doesn't seem to be their usual style in any case.

Izzycam, if you're reading this, come and talk to us over here! I would simply email LLZ Admin to report the abuse of your account, and see what happens.

I am also concerned about the unpleasant 'Gavin Saunders' persona being used on that thread (by someone who by their own admission keen to hide their usual forum ID) to vilify those of us who have objected to the why the site is being moderated at present. LLZ regulars - does nyone have any idea who it might be? If it were not for the fact that the delightful (not!) 'Hairy Landlord' had been permanently removed, I'd say it was him...

It is interesting that he seems to think we are all being very precious about this and that we should just belt up and accept that LLZ belongs to its owners and we should accept without question their editorial control over who posts, and what they post. I would say (if I could) that it's a little more complicated than that, both in practice and in principle. LLZ is of course not a charity (if it were, I may feel differently) but I am beginning to wonder whether I am happy about continuing to work for free for an autocratic management who treats its contributors like drones, sacks them on a whim, then pockets the profits they have helped generated.
