There was other sellers selling the items cheaper but they was all sending there items by second class so as i needed the item a bit quicker i paid the bit extra for the item to have it sent first class but then the seller sent it second class.

I didn't say that i had bought from them purely as they were offering 1st class postage. I have bought from a few sellers lately offering free first class post and they have sent the item second class so i'm thinking they do this as you cannot mark them down on free p&p. So as i'm getting fedup with just a few i think it's better to leave a negative as the dsr is a load of rubbish.

In the top post you said that you had bought from them purely as they offered 1st class.

I don't think that all sellers are large companies. I sell on ebay as a private seller & if I had listed as 1st class post then I would have posted 1st class.
If I had mistakenly sent via 2nd & a customer messaged me, then I would have apologised for my stupid oversight, thanked them for alerting me & refunded the difference.
I would then edit all my live listings, either increasing the price or offering 2nd class free as standard, with the option of paying to upgrade to 1st class.

I was replying to the post above mine.

I would do the same as you, but then it all depends on what level of customer service the seller gives.

I assumed that as you had quoted my post that you were replying to it.

Just mark them down on dispatch time in the DSR instead, since effectively that's what using a slower service equates to.

Except dispatch dsr is for dispatch not time taken to arrive.

Contact the seller - then you'll know what the response is. Could it be any easier? What response are you looking for?

    I can't believe, I'm agreeing with you, don't think it's ever happened....
there must be something wrong with me today... ;)

I had a response from the seller saying I will have to ammend my listings as the prices of first class post have gone up and the fees are also rediculous after postage and paypal and ebay fees its working out too much to send first class .

then their description does not deserve 5* as it's not accurate and they forgot to update. Cooms is not 5* either as they should have at least apologised, but a refund would have been in order.

Remember we don't even know the value of the item, or the cost of postage. The amount to refund could be just a few pence.

How do you know they didn't apologise?

Only the postage isn't actually free it's added onto the cost of the product, so the OP did pay for it.
