What response should i expect from a ebay seller
Comments
-
I had a response from the seller saying I will have to ammend my listings as the prices of first class post have gone up and the fees are also rediculous after postage and paypal and ebay fees its working out too much to send first class .
Well as long as they do, then I think that it was just an oversight.0 -
Hmm, no offer of a partial refund, did you say that you had bought from them purely as they were offering 1st class postage & you needed the item quickly? If so & no offer then I would leave a comment & probably give a neutral.
Why do sellers think that buyers give a toss about fees etc?0 -
Free P&P doesn't give the option to leave dsr's thankfully.
OP you could message saying that you were disappointed to see that it was sent 2nd class rather than 1st as advertised and ask for a partial refund.
Was the fact that it was supposed to be sent 1st class the reason you bought from this seller, or were they the cheapest or best seller for the item?I may be mistaken, but I'm sure with Free P&P, it is automatically given max DSR, but can be changed manually. I may be wrong.
So no option to leave dsr for p&p. You aren't allowed to change it.0 -
personally I would let it go, it cost you nothing for postage, and you received your item.
I have not sold anything for 4 months and did not realize how postage had gone up,
I recently listed 2 pairs brand new trousers for £11.99 (for the 2)with free p&p had plenty of watchers but only 1 bidder,
It cost me £5.90 to post, but a very happy customer, who left fantastic feedback who will hopefully buy from me again.0 -
I didn't say that i had bought from them purely as they were offering 1st class postage. I have bought from a few sellers lately offering free first class post and they have sent the item second class so i'm thinking they do this as you cannot mark them down on free p&p. So as i'm getting fedup with just a few i think it's better to leave a negative as the dsr is a load of rubbish.0

Why do some buyers always thing that all sellers are big companies with loads of money. And that they should try and get what they can out of them?
It sounds like a simple oversight, that will probably now be corrected. So the OP might as well let it drop.0 -

Sorry but I think that is rather petty. Their response was polite and it was an obvious oversight0 -

The simple fact is that postage is NEVER free. It is either included in the price, or it is displayed.0 -

I don't think that all sellers are large companies. I sell on ebay as a private seller & if I had listed as 1st class post then I would have posted 1st class.
If I had mistakenly sent via 2nd & a customer messaged me, then I would have apologised for my stupid oversight, thanked them for alerting me & refunded the difference.
I would then edit all my live listings, either increasing the price or offering 2nd class free as standard, with the option of paying to upgrade to 1st class.0
