Probably also worth making mention of the recording functions. Kids will like the voice recorder (watch what you say after you've had a few at christmas) and apparently you can get it to make recordings from the built-in FM radio too. Recordings can be uploaded to your computer via the USB socket.
The screen resolution is about the same as my avatar (though a bit prettier) and the fact that it's OLED means it's nice and bright.
It'll also recharge from the USB socket on any computer so no need to lug a charger round with it, just the small cable. If you carry the cable with you then you can also use it as a memory stick for any type of file (e.g. word documents etc., not just music and vids).Reading this signature is a waste of time0 -
Sorry, not heard of downloading movies to these before.
How would you download an episode of the Simpsons to this then and where from because if you can do this our 8 year old would be over the moon with one of these!0 -

Thanks for this find OP but I found out to my horror that they charge £18.99 for delivery to Northern Ireland. We're part of the UK and Royal Mail charge accordingly so there's no excuse for this kind of rip off prices. A survey popped up when I cancelled my order so I got the opportunity to let them know what I thought! :mad:0

There's a site dedicated to these type of players here: http://www.mympxplayer.org
And a thread about video conversion here:
http://www.mympxplayer.org/viewtopic.php?p=78
The conversion software comes with the player but later versions can be downloaded from the web.
As for where you get your Simpsons from, well you can convert directly from a DVD or you can find episodes (which you already have on DVD and so fair use policy applies etc.) to download via bittorrent using any of the torrent search engines on the web.
Video conversion can get a bit sticky to say the least. It might work first time but be prepared to read some tutorials on the web to get it right.Reading this signature is a waste of time0 -

Bought one of these from Microdirect a few weeks ago for about £23 delivered. Looks a neat little player, sound is good, screen is bright and clear although very small.Humans only use around forty percent of their brains capacity. Imagine what we could achieve if we used the other seventy percent!0

Gor blimey, I'd love to see what you'd consider a big ticket purchase to be then. Whatever happened to a Satsuma and a bag of Maltesers as stocking fillers then?
Went the same way as 3x single income mortgages I suppose0 -
Does anyone know if this comes with a mains charger as well or if you can get them? Clify0
