I'm so sorry to hear about all of the problems that you have had with this competition :(

hope that you manage to sort something out and get some recompense for your disappointment in not being able to go

I thought that it was strange that there where problems with an event organised by Ford as they are usually spot on with there organisation having won a couple of comps with them previously

it appears that the promoters for this comp where Bauer Consumer Media Limited

the full T&C's are here

Best of Luck :)

I agree with melandtony, not your fault, it's theirs, truly and completely, bad organising. I got the wem on Monday night when I got home, and emailed them my details before 9pm, the first someone looked at it was 9.30am this morning, no use when I live an hours outside of Glasgow, I had also arranged two days off work, so had my companion, totally wasted now, the phone call this morning was apologetic but no use, didn't even say that she could still arrange the train for me, her only excuse was that she didn't know I lived in Scotland, well, I can only say that when sending out the wem's and needing a response to act on them and arrange travel etc, surely it would've made more sense to have someone looking at the replies yesterday NOT today.

I've also just added to their facebook page, and have done a letter to Bauer Media to their head office in Peterborough, and I'm writing also to Ford as well, don't think they'll be too happy with the upset, there are loads!
Thanks to all the competition posters.

the whole organisation of this competition was totally inefficient. i think we should all complain to the companies involved and see what happens!
Just about to give up!

took this from a guide to comping -

7 What happens if my prize doesn’t turn up?
This is going to be individual to each comp. Usually it will state in the T & C for each comp how long it should take for the prizes to be dispatched to winners. As a general rule though or in the absence of any particular details in the T & C, allow 28 days, (allow more if we are experiencing postal strikes or extreme weather conditions). If the prize hasn't arrived by then, get in touch with the company offering the prize. Try to contact the person whose details you have & ask politely if there is a problem with delivery. A telephone call is the best way, but failing that try emailing them. If they don't reply, look on the original website for contact details & contact them, again being as polite as you can.

If you still get no response from them, there are a few different things you can try.

The Institute of Promotional Marketing complaints@isp.org.uk lay down the guidelines which comp organisors must follow. MSE Compers have reported that they are very good at investigating dodgy comps & missing prizes with one chap in particular Edwin Mutton, being an absolute star. Please note, the IPM was formerly known as the Institute of Sales Promotion (name change in May 2010) however, the contact info does not appear to have changed.

The Advertising Standards Authority have an online complaints form.

I had an issue with a prize not turning up & after chasing politely for 5 months, I mentioned that I had been advised to talk to the Institute of Sales Promotions about the matter. Funnily enough that resulted in a letter of apology within a few days, along with a box of ‘Apology Goodies’ & my prize turned up 2 weeks later. Just remember to keep your cool & remain polite.
