**WARNING** SCAM WEBSITE - LAND REGISTER ONLINE / landregistrydeeds

Just want to warn people about this website that I have (foolishly) used and lost £30.
Marketing themselves as a direct portal to the official government Land Registry site, Land Register Online offer a copy of your house deeds to be emailed within an hour for £29.95. I received nothing and all attempts to contact the company have failed.
Only now after doing some searching has it become apparent that there is loads of stuff on review sites about how people have been ripped off. There website domain is registered to a small house in Nottingham:
The FreeIndex website has a few positive reviews but they all have a 'Alert' message next to them confirming that the reviews were left by the same computer that the company uses!
I would be interested to hear off anyone else who has used this company and if they had any luck getting their money back.

Hi,
Could you remove the personal details from your post please? Otherwise it will have to be deleted. I'll copy the relevant section of the Forum Rules below for you...Forum_Team wrote:I posted a company director's name and address but it's gone, why?

have you reported it?0

Will be reporting it to Consumer Direct, Trading Standard plus anyone else who will listen when i'm off work on Thursday.
Many of these cases go back some time so can't believe that they're still able to operate without anyone closing them down??0 -
My debit card company advises me that they have to wait for the payment I made to the Land Register Online to appear on my statement before I can claim that the payment is in dispute. I'm still amazed that they are still doing this to people without being closed down??0

They are offering a service. You chose to use them.
If they have failed to deliver the service, then pursue them for a remedy.
You will need a non-POBox address though, and one can be found here.
Maybe confirm the address with your bank.
Write to them recorded delivery outlining your problem.
Ask them for your money back in say 14 days.
Tell them you will start the legal process when they don't pay.
Call it a letter before action.
See the thread entitled...

Next time use a credit card, then you can do a chargeback.0

Why should they be closed down?

Hmmm. let me see..... Land Register Online are operating a online business with the one objective of obtaining money by fraud. This is illegal and not the type of company that should be allowed to trade.
Yes, they are offering a service. However, the important part is that they're intentionally not doing delivering that service
If, in my business, I happily took customers money with no intention of supplying the goods that they had paid for I would expect to be closed down fairly quickly.
I would be interested to hear of any genuine customers who actually got what they paid for from Land Register Online but with extensive searching0 -

Wrong, you can.
It's Section 75 that has the £100/£30k limits on it.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0
