Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tues 10th May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning BB and everyone else who follows.I couldn't sleep past 2am for some reason unknown so have been pottering round for the last 4 hours trying not to make much noise.Have done 2 loads of washing and just hung them out to dry.Emptied dw and had a quick tidy and clean of the kitchen, sorted paperwork out from Monday and Tuesday and filed away .So won't have much to do today once everyone has gone off to school.Might just have to pop round and see baby Gregg, haven't seen him for a little while.
Right am finishing my cuppa and then off to get washed and dressed before the troops are awake.
Have a lovely day all and take care xx

    Good morning peoples,

BB I'm liking your avatar picture:)
Uolypool you've done a day's work before I got out of bed!!!

Washed bedding yesterday and it all dried on line beautifully. Need to do the same again today.

Dinner will be something from the freezer with stir-fry. Will look out something for tomorrow while I'm in there.

Need to do some work work and also get some sorting, shredding and re-cycling done.

Hugs to those who need or want. Happy Wednesday folks.
    Cheers, Silver x

    Morning all
BB, did you get homing chickens so hubby didn't miss his pidgeons too much, lol?
DW loaded, fish fed, packups made Feta salad today, breakfast eaten, still working my way through the 8p for 6 hot cross buns & hubby dropped at the station.
I may have to commit murder soon, BIL is wailing on & on about how difficult his life is & has always been & how no-one has ever helped him, ok I understand that he is finding his present situation difficult, BUT, this situation & all he previous problems have been caused by alcohol or his ex wife & who did he come & stay with everytime thing went tit's up, us! So I'm annoyed about his complaints about having no help & to make life really wonderful his ex now wants an invitation to our wedding, my reply contains 2 words, the first one begins with F, I'm sure you can guess the rest!
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning all,

Looks bright here again today, I am off to work, so quick tidy of the kitchen before I go.

Dinner tonight is chicken fried rice, have also got a chicken salad for lunch today.

My DD has her Drama GCSE today she has got to stay at school till 8 tonight, I have packed her up extra snacks and drinks, and will have her dinner waiting. Good luck to her and all others with exams.

Rubbish and recycling are out, and I need to empty the DW before I go.

    Have good days all xx

Good Morning all and a special Hello to Math, long time no 'see' good to see and old face returning.
Very bright and sunny at the moment, I am reminded of my late ma-in-law 'Sun before seven, rain by eleven' as its very bright and glarey at the moment, but although we need some rain it is nice to see the sun.Porch will be finished today hopefully and its kept me from shopping which is good as it means I am saving my cash.Have got the painting bug now and I may do the small lobby between the kitchen and the bathroom as its only a small space and a lick of emulsion will cheer it up a bit.Eldest DD said she will pop in for a quick coffee this morning as she has to do some banking for the school locally and 10 minutes won't hurt.
Right I'm off for some breakfast and then the school run with two DGS.Have a good day everyone

    Good Morning Everyone

Hester - hope you manage to keep your patience :o

Didn't have a great day after all yesterday - ended up being sick at lunchtime and then dozed on and off the rest of the day. Hopefully was a quick bug and all forgotten now :o

As a result have twice as much to do today - need to get my head down in the office today then housework this afternoon. No ironing though :j

Need to rejiggle the menu plan as kids have different activities again. Will calm down once DD starts her GCSE's next week.

Thats it for me, have a great day.x

Oooh yes - Good Luck for DD Redruby

    Morning everyone

Overcast but not cold, but no rain here as yet, forecast says showers for today, we'll have to wait and see. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. Dinner was a multitude of different things for all of us. Tonight we're having fish. Working until lunchtime, then on days off. We're away again this weekend so the usual round of chores to be done, want to do some baking/cooking too. Will be endeavouring to make a start with the ironing mountain at some point, looks like I'm going to be ironing forever!! But it's all been line dried so shouldn't complain, no TD used to bump up the leccy bill!! DS2 quite stressed still with the SATS exams, will be pleased for them all when the week's over. Will need to put the BM on later, organise menu plan and shopping list.

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Morning! Another fleeting hello from me.

Hester I think every family has someone like your BIL - I do hope it gets sorted out or at least you can get on with things :)
uolypool You want to come and help me here? i could do with a little night elf:D
    EG Feel better soon!

Well not really sure there is much OS today, OH is down the new house already waiting for delivery of our new washing machine and we have to do the dreaded IKEA trip later for things like lamp shades and curtains etc. it's very exciting getting our own house but I don't realise how much our household bits were provided by landlords etc! It's all getting done on the cheap for now sorry kids!

Got all four tonight and dinner will not be OS it will be burgers and chips from the freezer section at A*ldi. I really can't wait to get back to some kind of normality.......
