The weather is awful here! Was supposed to be going for a nice walk but now I think not!! Best just to sit inside and write instead.0

I'm having a duvet day!!! I was so ill yesterday all I did was lie on the sofa and trawl the fourms at some points when I wasn't feeling OTT...lucky my Mum already planned to have kids in morning god knows how I would of coped I barely managed the afternoon till OH got home
Today I feel alot better but still worn out so no work today other then a couple of orders I've got to do - I'm simply going to curl up with my duvet :-) (This is your fault LL I don't say duvet I say quilt haha)
I'm feeling good today, 993 feedback....7 more to go without a negative. My aim is 1 neg per 1000 so I'll have a 99.9% record at least.(Currently 100% hehe, I do have 6 neutrals but 1 is a downright lie and buyers would probably laugh at it, 1 is saying I didn't write her full name - which is true I always right X.Last name and the other 4 are postage times when I was in hospital with little ones got lucky they wern't negs I guess!)
Going to spend the whole of tomorrow working and making new listings but giving myself a well deserved break today after the horror of yesterday...
The postman came around 2pm and I opened the door in my pjs and hair a mess...whoops XD
IMO I feel like I'm writing my life story here rather then sticking to the millionaire challenge sometimes....hum ho.People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
You sound so *ill*, Kaya! A duvet day is an absolute necessity when you're like that. And 7 to go before 1000! Thats great
Understand what you mean about the life story bit - I have my diary on here to do that, but even so, it tends to spread. And when you're self employed, *and* working from home, it spreads even moreI think thats realistic, even useful - we can't increase our personal wealth to the sort of level we're looking at unless we get the rest of our lives in cooperative mode :rotfl:

Kayalana - hope you feel well soon -snuggle up under that duvet ….
Better day here - bright and breezy but a bit cold for me. I would have loved a duvet day today.
Apparently we are in for some "weather" in the next few days - so I will probably just batten down the hatches and have a duvet day then.:rotfl:
Have been "on site" at both properties today - checking that electricians were ok with my instructions and drawings (you can never be too careful). then meetings with plasterer, then whizzed over to prop 2 with plasterer and open the gates for the next batch of scaffolding to go up.
Whilst waiting around there was the usual "mashing" of tea as we say here and general cleaning and tidying up.
I'm shattered. So going to get warmed up and have a little rest now, ready to start all over again tomorrow;).
The good news is, Mum loved the new retirement complex and has agreed to the move.
This is a huge relief and a great weight off my shoulders. Dad will be in the sheltered housing bit in his little flat and mum will be downstairs in the nursing home bit.
I've also made a decision about their cottage. It's on the market but so far no takers and dad is starting to get very anxious. So, I may well make it property no 3. I've spoken to my trusty builder and he reckons it would be a good investment - a real diamond in the rough….... It's a bit small but with a bit of rejigging it could be a little gem. Ideally a loft conversion??
I'll mull it over…...0 -
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 1000 feedback.

I'm still lurking, but wanted to say "happy weekend" and well done on all of this week's achievements.Your biggest asset is TIME! I'm focused on multi-generational financial freedom.0

Well done Kayalana. And still all positive? Great work.
Thanks for the Mr Money Mustache link. Looks interesting. Was reading his advice about starting a blog. Still thinking about the affiliate marketing thing...so reading his blog might give me some tips.
LL - so glad to read that your Mum likes the retirement complex. Hope the cottage does work out to be a suitable property no. 3 for you. Would save you sourcing a new property and mean you can crack on with no.3 asap. Although, I imagine sourcing a new property is part of the fun, isn't it?Scaffolding and skips! I hate that I had to spend so much money on them!
Evilqueen, hope the second novella is going well. And that you found the jerry cans! What are they for?
Buffy, glad all is ok with you after your work shock.
Hope everyone else is ok. My house is still not finished, can't wait to get in. Obviously for the obvious reason, but also so I can start to focus on other things (particularly how to make some money to build my savings up again!). It's difficult at the moment between being a mom, overseeing the renovations, and living with my parents! Never a quiet moment.
Hope you all have a good weekend. x0 -
Things have been abit bad lately, mainly due to me losing my motivation and the next thing on my to do list was a massive job - so I've been putting it off loads. I've been boarder line depressed the last week I think for no reason...I'm either really up or really down...always been abit like that.
I havn't actually got round to reading any more of money mustache I meant to what little I read was inspiring and he has pages full! Looking forward to it now I'm getting my head back I might be more in the mood.
My eldest is ill again (not to bad although was sick alot in night but hes alot chripper now) - but on a positive note everyone was asleep right through till 11 today and as I wanted to stay in bed but couldn't sleep I grabbed my laptop and managed to get that big job done...only took me 4 hours !!!
So I have a new line of listings to put up - wedding themed. I think they will be by best seller as I am the only seller who does them in different sizes as yet. Get them up today hopefully.
LL - Really good news about your Mum, and excellent idea about the cottage how lovely of you to do that for them and to be in the position to!
RK - Hope things move along for you can't be much space for you where you are.People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -

and this month, instead of finishing the accounts and starting straight away on the next money making idea, I've been working on getting things tidy, and even clean, dare I say it :rotfl: it makes a huge difference!

Hello guys
I got over my scare! and although they asked me to apply to go permanent that sounded a bit too serious and restricting for me! so I have said no.
Bit scary but then I came and read this thread and thought everything is all right:)
It was never part of my plan to have a permanent job and it would restrict the kind of things I want to do.
thanks for the kind comments.
anyhow this news definitely needs me to refocus my efforts re debts and savings and future. I do have a second income - erratic but useful tutoring, I have two idea for extra schemes!
Re feeling rich- I did add some money to my zopa account,
now have 150 in there, made 9.53 and paid 1.44 in fees.
Not exactly raking it in but a start.
also got some good advice re premium bonds. buying them in 1000 blocks apparently means more chance of winning?
and this post is being printed out and stuck to my notice board!lessonlearned wrote: »Here's my tuppence worth.
Keep a right rein on the cash flow. Clear any debts or at least get them on 0% or a nice low interest rate.
Then build up some savings so that you can then start investing. In the meantime try and build some little sideline businesses so that you have more than once source of income.
Protect what you have and then build from there.
That's what I did.
I don't believe in get rich quick schemes and at my age 62 I can't afford to take too many risks.
I may or may not live long enough to make that magic £1m but as long as I make good steady progress then I am more than happy.
I set out to rescue my finances and help my boys - so far so good.
Like most of us I have personal commitments that do take up a lot of my time - my poorly OH and my aged parents so cannot always devote as much time to my money making as I would like.
One thing I have done and continue to try and do is improve my time management.
This year I made a resolution to watch less junk TV and less time playing on the T'internet.
It's amazing how much extra time I have found.:rotfl:Nevertheless she persisted.0
