Blimey, Buffy, thats scary - patchwork income/income streams, make a lot more sense, don't they, in this environment. Glad you got it sorted, anyway, and you've still got your main income.
LL - absolutely, if she's got good feedback on ebay, why not? Its out of your way, and you get some cash for it. Win-win.

Pretty standard.

Found this link on the boards somewhere, havn't got round to reading much of him yet but he seems to know what he's talking about quite interesting.
Looking into doing some proper investments & posted in savings and investments so have decided to *try* and put £300 away from my business into a savings account for a year. (& top up if needed from my own money) into a 6% savings account then look into getting some sit on your bum type capital growth investments.
Going to start that in March though as I have to sign up for a current account + then the savings account so will take time, and also give me some extra time to focus on expanding before I start taking big chunks out.

People who run businesses this way drives me mad, don't they want the work? XDPeople don't know what they want until you show them.0 -

And yet to hear them talk there's not enough work to go around, they are struggling to put food on the table and their kids are going barefoot. :rotfl:
I've been hearing that refrain for the last 40 years. That's builders for you.
However, one thing I would say is that good builders and trades do get booked up months in advance. If an unknown to me trades person is available at the drop of a hat I get suspicious.
The good ones usually have more work than they can handle.
To be fair to my lot, the weather has been dire. So far the work we've done has been largely internal - it's not been fit to start on the external works. Pointing and weatherproofing are really fair-weather jobs or at least not torrential rain.
My plan has been to get everything ready so that now that hopefully spring is just round the corner we can get going on the external works as soon as the weather allows.
We've got the scaffolding up on property 1 now but I can't really expect roofers to go up when it's hurricane force gales and driving rain. :rotfl:
We are now awaiting the conservation officer's pleasure and then we will have to wait for the weather gods to be kind.
My weekend? - up to my neck in brick and plaster dust, hands wrecked, nails torn and split, hair a fright - loved every minute of it:rotfl:
At least my back held out so the pilates must be working.
The flipper is now stripped out, ready to go. It took three tip runs to get rid of everything that can't be recycled. A bit of a pain but better than paying £200 for a skip.
Have spent today having a bit of a rest and a mini sort out, phone calls, paperwork etc I've sorted out some stuff ready to drop off to my new "assistant" - the lady who is going to sell stuff for me.
I started saving £300 a month this year too, plus I moved everything around to get the best rates I could get.
Still aiming to go for house no 3 soon but will wait until house no 1 has had it's external works done - just in case costs come in higher than anticipated.
Another busy week this week, tomorrow I start helping dad clear my parents' house - 65 years worth of collected possessions and treasures:eek:
Then on Wednesday it's back to the flipper to get everything ready for the electrician on Thursday.
I've also picked up another load of shrubs, fruit bushes etc so over the next week or so we are aiming to start the gardens on both properties, whilst the leccy man and the plasterer crack on with prop 2.
It's all coming together……..0 -

The good ones usually have more work than they can handle.even though the builder himself is older than either of us, and walks with a roll like a sailor cos of arthritis, he's run off his feet
he hand delivered the quote today, *and* rang the bell to do it - thats got to be good!

I meant to be working on the cat website this afternoon ... but there was a window of sunshine, so I did prep stuff in the garden... I'm so nearly there with being able to really pay attention, but I *need* that garden to grow me some food this year, and to look better while its doing it. Not enough hours, not enough energy!
How was yours, EvilQueen?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
So how many of you think im mad and its impossible :rotfl: and how many of you think i'll do it and have ideas to help me :T
Recommend you read 'Money for Something' by Matt Henderson.
Also, I think a million in 13 years is a little conservative. Why not aim for 5 million? If you're dedicated and discover how to make money work for you, the higher you go, the easier it will get to generate the rest.

That's a very good site, some very interesting stuff on there. He has quite a take on life and money in general. I could picture him being quite annoying if I was in his company for long periods, but generally a good read. Though if you're a bad-language zealot, you probably won't like it.0 -
Well Karma cat I had a tremendous cold but I spent my time under my duvet signing up to sites such as qmee, clixsense and the like, so at least my misery made me a few dollars. Back to work tomorrow, sat typing like mad.0

Hope you feel better soon. There's a lot of lurgies about.
You can't beat a duvet day now and again - especially if you can make money at the same time!!!
Well done…..
Filthy day here - blowing a gale - lashing with rain - could do with a duvet day myself but I need to crack on.0
