Again some amazing posts here!
I am VERY frugal most the time but also enjoy life at the same time.we go on holidays but we always go for the cheapest one and usually end up having an amazing time. The kids dont want for much but also are aware that everything has a cost.To earn a few chocolate buttons they must tidy up or something similar(and not in a bribery way)
Well today, having half hour to kill, I parked my van close to a busy junction close to home (not in the way though!) and just sat there thinking even if 1 person views my website im happy.....no no my luck must be in as someone actually came over and spoke to me about doing a full house renovation!!!!!
Now people can say what they want about oooh isnt it lucky you were there but I am a firm believer that its not luck its hard work and choices made. Had I not paid for van signage I could sit there all day, had I gone straight home I could have missed out etc. I know for a fact there is at least 2 other female decorators, and at least 15 decorators in general within a 1 mile radius. The road the house was on has a decorator living just doors away....
The guy actually said he hadnt seen any female decs around and thats part of the reason he came over.again I know thats unfair advantage but if thats what people are after then im not going to read them the riot act!
Well done you! That's great news. Like you said you could of thought no work on so may aswell go home but because you made an effort to sit there incase someone saw your van it paid off! I'm also sure it will show potential customer's you are hard working and care about your business and this will surely rub off on the work you produce making happy customer's that will probably spread the word about what a great job you did and hopefully bring you some more work in the future.0 -

On a income level i got my highest ever pay yday....£1,130 for the fortnight! At 19 i cannot turn my nose up at that/imagine much more people getting more than that at my age!! So think im doing well? So long as income increases as age does and expenses do not!!Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

Didnt mean to post that as wasnt finished typing....Got 36p interest on account...paid £41.95 to phone bill. Put 25% of take home straight into ISA...£282.73. Looking to fill it by end of year + then save up next years allowance by April 5th 2012...so when April comes round il switch to one with a decent rate and add in next years allowance straight away...so il have near £11k in there. One thing iv realised is not much point paying off money to cards when get paid if im just going to add more on again!! So putting money to ISA that hopefully wont be touched while taking cards down. Cards will all hopefully be gone by the end of that 100 day challenge...Paid £100 off RBS card today so £540 left....will be looking to clear that with my pay in 4 weeks.
So much ideas....i think im doing great and im in the right mindset....Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

At 19 I was getting £550 a year gross. Alright a very, very long time ago, but I agree that £1,130 for 2 weeks is good money for a 19 year old.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
well i am def not going to be a millionaire by the time i am 40...lol.. as i am 45 this year:eek::cool:
regardless of what you want to achive..... GO FOR IT!!!!
you have nothing to lose.....
I have allway dreamed of having a smallholding.. at i was up to my eyeballs in debt... ok i am nowhere near being able to afford one, BUT i have now paid off our debts ( ok not the mortage) and have saved some money....
so whether you reach your target of becoming a millionaire or not... you will be financially stable and hopefully debt free later on in life....
Now where can i get my mits on 695k in the next month or so:search::think::rotfl:Work to live= not live to work0 -
Well thats what gives me extra motivaton against you guys i think, i have 25 years on top of you to get millionare status! Even not millionare, just very well off that if i am off work for 3 months i have plenty to get me by and not worry, same if i was to want to take a weeks holiday at a minutes notice i could do just that. I want to have £10,000 in my current account as my £0 mark. So try and stay above but there if i need it. So if car or something ever just goes bang, i dont have to worry. I think one of the things i need to do is get it so i earn money 7 days a week. Even a three quater day Saturday and a half day work Sunday, keep me busy aswel.Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

ok.... this is a good one to start with
M & S credit card ( yes sometimes credit cards can be good) are offering 15 months interest free on purchases.....
They offer Travellers cheques with a 1% fee ( this is classed as a purchase)
now you can either use this to make some money by putting it into a savings account etc, for 14 months and gleen the interest, ( dont forget you need to pay the min CC payments and at the end of the interest free period pay it ALL off )
OR
Instead of trying to get some interest from the money you could use it to pay off a higher interest loan CC etc.... but please remember you do either need to pay it off by the end of the promtion or switch to a 0% balance transfer ( normally a 3% charge, but even so you have a loan/debt at only 4% interest)

Ok its not mega money earned in interst, but its MONEY!!!!
please check that your bank does not make a cahrge for putting sterling travellers cheques into your account....Work to live= not live to work0 -
