To really start my millionaire challenge I'm going to need about 27k to do what I want.... so its getting to that 27k I am going to really struggle with.

So I have decided to 'start' my million challenge I shall begin with an easier figure... my 27k.

To make it even simplier, I am going to work on getting '1%' at a time which is actally only £270. :D

Already 1/100 for that then. Plan on selling things around the house for the 2% as I still have alot of shoes upstairs from when I attempted to run an ebay business... :o tbf it would of worked if it hadn't been for rising postage costs and those bloody returns..!!

  • After seeing this thread for years, I finally decided to come and have a look what people were saying and to join as I now 100% believe that I can and will be a millionaire. I started having a read through from the beginning and was so impressed with how positive everyone was - definitely my place. I wasn't drawn in before as it wasn't the right time but now most certainly is.

I currently owe some money and my bank balance looks like it is on a diet but the thing that has changed is my belief, I no longer have sleepless nights because of my financial situation I now have sleepless nights due to excitement of what will be.

I have always been a hard worker and a yes person so seeing an opportunity and running with it works in my favour, I would just jump ship too soon and move onto the next thing. Then I decided this must stop so I put my money, energy and time into becoming an accredited professional coach (life coach) I pushed through my fear and comfort zone and finished the course and successfully passed. This proved to me I could start and finish something and also helped me focus as I was getting coached too (which I highly recommend). So now I have done this I am hungry for more and am reading some amazing books, listening to audios, have a daily personal development routine. I am going to be working on a few projects - all are early days but as I now have a plan and am taking action I know that I will be a success! I am 32 and will be a millionaire by the time I'm 40 - if not before!

Now I'm going to take time to read every post and get to know the people here. I look forward to chatting to you all and watching you achieve.

    Thank you

Have you tried the courier companies - even for smallish items they can work out cheaper than Royal Mail. Lots of comparison sites around.

    Good luck.

Ps - what kind of shoes
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • Good Morning Everyone and a big Hello to all Newbies. Lots of positive vibes coming from this thread these days. :T Great to hear all your plans.

Tink - hope you are feeling a little brighter. It is difficult sometimes to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but it is always there.

As you know life has thrown me a few curved balls in recent years and there have been some really low points, but - on the whole - I am content. I am at least now solvent, all debts cleared and have managed to set aside a little money to start property developing.

It was a long slog and there were times when I feared I would lose everything. I survived. I really do think the experience has made me stronger and wiser. I still get the odd wobble and crisis of confidence but I know that if I take care to make the right decisions and just continue to plough on everything will come good in the end.

My OH will die - sooner rather than later - but I am determined to enjoy what time we have left - hence the move to the bungalow. Everything else will slip into place in the end.

Hi Raykay - how is Baby Kay. Don't worry about not getting much done at the moment - a baby takes up sooooo much time!!!. It does get easier.;)

I know what you mean about reno works always costing more.....Sometimes you get to the stage where you wonder if you have bought a money pit. The thing to remember when renovating is always to expected the unexpected and that the work will always take longer and cost more than you had originally hoped for.

At the moment I seem to just be paying out and paying out and there is nothing much coming in.......

Oh well - I guess you have to speculate to accumulate:rotfl:.

I now have a moving in date for my rented bungalow. OH is looking forward to me being closer to him and able to spend more time with him. I can spend most evenings with him and then project manage the builds during the day.

In the meantime I have been busy organising the trades for House No 1 (the keeper) and pushing forward with the purchase of House No 2 (the flipper). I am not rushing this stage. I am taking time to source materials at good prices and, more importantly, in getting the right trades together to build up a reliable team of people who I can trust and who will do a good job.

I am coaching the boys so that I can delegate more to them to free me up to try my hand at other things.

I just wish there were more hours in the day.:rotfl:

Hope you are all well and making lots of money......

Heels mainly, thing is I'm 8months pregnat and my back room is full of shoes and I'm gonna need space for the new baby... I'd sell them at full price eventually but just don't have time to wait for it so just sticking them all on auction now one by one.

MyHermes is £4.20 and collect from my door which is ideal...but thats massive compared to the £2.20 2nd class I used to send them!

  • Hi all, looks like everyone is doing well.

College started last Thursday and I really enjoyed it. Almost completed my first piece of homework as well :D
  • Just dropping by for some inspiration :)

Hope you are all doing well

    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Great thread. Like the idea of breaking goals down into stages. So there's a number of successes along the way. I'm going to apply (nick) that straight away.:o

I see many posters note their age. In a way I feel the age you start is irrelevant. It's about moving from point a to point z in a specified period of time. You define what z looks like for you. And if you start at 30 or 70, so what. You're improving your financial lot. The phrase that sums this up for me is - When you know better, you do better :T

H, I'm really interested in what sorts of things you do in your daily personal development routine. And many congrats on qualifying as a life coach. :j

Feeling very (very) inspired by you all :A

  • Room for one more?

Seeing as there's plenty of people on here just looking to make big incomes rather than chasing millionaire status I'd like to sign up for the journey.

    A bit about me;

Dropped out of an engineering degree at a pretty good university after just one year - I was pretty disenchanted with it all. It was just such a big step up, I thought physics, maths, chemistry all came easy to me but when you stop differentiating functions and start doing real and complex analysis of imaginary numbers it suddenly becomes a bit of a chore. A number of other factors all added in made the experience a bit of a car crash.

Dropped out hastily, went fukll time at my crappy Tesco job and with my first full time pay check looked to savings, which led me to investments where I thought - hold on if I can make 15% a year at this I only need £100,000, coupled with a part time job and I'm on a decent income without the 9-5 career monkey nonsense. Alas I was slightly too ambitious, even sellign my motorbikes, car, watches, clothes, working all the hours god gave me, couple with a great bull market, no rent and near zero spending I never quite made it.

The money I did make is now parked waiting to be put down as a deposit on a flat. At 22 and having sacrificied a lot of socialising I want my own place - a lot of life to live and I shan't let my parents bear witness to this!

So here I stand today disheartened, restless and re-writing the plan.

    What's the plan? TBC

The goal? £12,000 monthly income after tax

    Ambitious or crazy? You decide.

Oh and the kicker? It can't be from any high flying job that ties me down working 8-6, endless commuting, stress and spending my weekends replying to e-mails.

The Tesco job can stay it's part-time at 3 nights and actually enjoyable, simple, straighforward and there's some really good people there.

From this I make £1,000 a month after tax. Now just 11K NET to go. More details to follow...
  • Evening everyone. :)

Kayalana, I love your idea of breaking down your goal into far more achievable sounding 1% blocks. I'm going to steal that idea if you don't mind?! :) Have you managed to sell any shoes this week?

Lesson Learned, BabyKay is doing really well, thank you for asking. He's an absolute delight and growing so quickly...he'll be 5 months on the 29th! Have you moved into the bungalow yet? So good that you'll be closer to your DH. And how're your renovations coming along?

Gothrockchic, glad to hear you enjoyed your first day at college. Best of luck for it. :)

Droopsnoot, sorry to hear about your investment going bad...I hope you're able to quickly bounce back from it. I'm *definitely* going to give matched betting a go soon...watch this space... :)

Hello to the newcomers. It's such a lovely positive thread this one. :)
