Evening everyone.
Kayalana, I love your idea of breaking down your goal into far more achievable sounding 1% blocks. I'm going to steal that idea if you don't mind?!Have you managed to sell any shoes this week?
Ofc not ! :-)
Yes but I had about 70 pairs and 20 of them are top quality shoes, I listed 10 pairs 8 of them being the 'upper' ones and the 2 that wernt top quality didn't sell....but I made quite abit on the others on auctions.
It's abit annoying as I sell at 99p auctions + postage..and I worked out that I actally make 1p if I sell it at 99p!! So not worth doing + if they don't sell (the less quality pairs..their ok just the others are like wedding/high class partys kind of standard)
Im wondering if it would be worth just getting them all boxed and put on Ebay in one job lot for the 'lesser' pairs
Either way without doing the Maths I think I've made about £60 so far after delivery :-)People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
Hi Everyone - welcome to the Sandman - there's always room for more on here. Sounds like you're off to a good start.
Just a quick catch up. Got the keys to the bungalow, gave it a good clean yesterday ready for moving tomorrow. Will crack on with the packing today. OH really looking forward to me being closer.
Renos on DS1's house going well. Slow but sure. Taking our time to think things through and work out the best and cheapest;) way forward. I do have to admit that I find the mess and chaos a bit irksome so will be really glad to move out.
DS2's house purchase is proving a bit problematical - again just need to take our time. Frustrating really because that is the one which is supposed to be the money spinner. Never mind -better to take a little time and get it right.
Not heard from the Auction House yet whether or not my stuff did actually sell.
Not much other news.
Kayalana - tbh I've more or less given up with Ebay. The high cost of postage does make it less attractive when selling lower cost items. Maybe I'll give it another whirl some time. I know it's not money making but I have given a lot of my stuff to the charity shops.
Right better get cracking. I'm really not in the mood today. I'll be glad when the move is done, 3 times in 10 months is a bit much:rotfl:0 -
LL - hope your move into the bungalow went smoothly today. Happy settling in.
Kayalana, good news that you've sold some shoes. £60 is is a good chunk of £270.
Well, this week, I've talked myself out of a BTL investment that seemed appealing initially (70% non status finance available - a must for me as a stay at home mum with no income), but less so on closer inspection. It was do-able money-wise, but wouldn't have left enough in the savings pot for me to stay home with BabyKay for as long as I hope to. I feel good though for having come across something that I thought I wanted at this time (a hands off BTL investment) and realising that actually it's not quite the right thing for me. I'm much more interested in buying a property to renovate in the future, to either rent out or flip, but the renovation is what excites me...not the thought of being a landlord. So I'll save the bit of savings I have and try to build on it so that I'm in a position to to look for renovation projects a few years down the line when BabyKay is a little less time-demanding.
And meanwhile, I've started matched betting...£19.99 up after two bets...so far, so good...0 -

Getting their slowly :-))
Sometimes you just need to think about things lol its so easy to dive into something head first then realise you've made a mistake later...but then its possible to over think sometimes. :rotfl:
Really will look into matched betting soon..is their some guide that got you started? Or did you just read the fourms?
Gonna take abit of a break now from Ebay since I'm sitting next to my two day old little man who came 2 weeks early.
I was reading a book called Think like a tycoon thats really good but I've misplaced it...I was half tempted to take it to hospital with me but decided against it and now I can't remember where I've put it in the rush of things....sure it will turn up lol. :rotfl:People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
So happy to hear about the safe arrival of your little one! Great news.
Are you home already? Good luck with the next few weeks...it's tough going for a while but oh so worth it.
Re matched betting, after reading through the guides on here and having a bit of a look, I decided to sign up to a service that tells you exactly what to do with a step by step email for every bet. It was Droopsnoot on this thread that first told me about it. It's not particularly expensive and for a newbie it makes me more confident that I'm doing it right, and also (and importantly) means I don't have to spend time working out bets for myself, etc. so can be done in a few minutes.
Have fun getting to know your little boy!0 -

Kayalana - Congratulations!!! Glad to hear that about the safe arrival of your little man. Don't worry too much about getting back to the money making - just rest a little (when you get the chance!!) and enjoy your time with your LO - it goes so fast. Before you know it that tiny little bundle morphs into a strapping 6'3" man;)
Well I'm in the bungalow, moved in on Wednesday, everything unpacked, rooms dressed, curtains up, paintings hung. Everything nice and shipshape. It's been a full on couple of days so am going to have a little rest this weekend before the next onslaught.
In addition to moving I have also been helping DS1 on his reno works, overseeing and organising the trades, getting quotes, meeting with the conservation officer. The two staircases are currently being rebuilt. I have to say it's nice to be able to get away from all that mess and return to my nice clean home in the evening.
And of course, OH enjoys having me close by. The wheelchair access to the bungalow is nice and easy for me so I can wheel him round whenever he wants to visit me.
Ray-Kay - I understand your reservations about BTL. I have exactly the same thoughts. I think I would prefer to develop rather than be a landlord.
I too would be most interested in Matched Betting and, when you have spare minute, I would be very grateful if you could PM the links you mentioned. I am not very confident about my ability to do it myself so the option you have gone for may well suit me better.
Good to see the thread is still going strong.
Happy Money Making......0 -
LL Glad the move went ok. Must be comforting to be close to your husband now.
Kayalana Congrats on the birth of your son - clearly he couldn't wait to meet you!
RayKay Good to see you on here. I owe you an email, sorry - things have been mad busy and time just flies. Hope baby RayKay is doing well. I'm another who's interested in the matched betting info if you wouldn't mind pm-ing it?
Hope you're all doing well on the money-making front. Unfortunately the nearest I've got is listing some bits on eBay, but it's better than nothing. Here's to a lovely weekend!0 -

Congratulations Kayalana on the birth of your son, I wondered if he is first baby born whilst this thread has been in action!0
