I guess you can do it with any spirit. I have done the same with gin. If your talking about dark rum the flavours wont be the same I guess as the base already has its own flavour but guess it would work withwhite rum just as good

thanks for that :D i was thinking white rum, vodka gives me migraines :(

Ive just wizzed up a pack of wethers originals, so they were a fine powder, and mixed them with a stray bottle of vodka thats been in my upboard for ages. Hopefully they will dissolve quickly and we will have toffee vodka for christmas!!!!

Did you wizz them in an ordinary blender? I was going to do that but wasn't sure if it would break it.

I did it in my magi mix, did start using my hand blender, but bits kept flying out the top of the container, so needed something with a lid!!!! Worked perfectly.
  • ok here is what i have found out about toffee vodka

dissolve a packet of Weathers originals in a sauce pan with a little water (to stop it sticking ) once dissolved mix with the vodka once this is mixed and in the bottle, and this is the trick put the bottle in a dishwasher on a 30 min wash make sure the bottle is sealed!!!! now chill and enjoy believe me it doesn't last long .....

  • It's never too late to make toffee vodka! Lol.

But yes the last time I did it it took about 3 days to dissolve - although I did put more Werthers Original in than was recommended as I wanted it to be extra toffee-ee. :)
  • How long does the toffee vodka keep for? Is it too early to make for xmas 2012? Thankyou.

Thank you for this thread... I have been looking for ideas for a H/M pressie for my niece for her 22nd Bday... One small bottle of toffee vodka now made, and also purple skittle vodka and yellow skittle vodka.
My eldest DD informed me that you need to strain any sediment out, and i looked it up, seems you can filter it through unused Jclothes.
