Petrol increase

It does nothing but take more money from the poor. Suppose it will leave more room on the road for the rich gas guzzlers. THe government has been waiting in the wings to use the green stuff to get more money from us. The real issues are not dealt with and public transport is an absolute joke.0

Completely agree, I find my car is the cheapest way to get around (I have a 1.0 VVTi engine) by far. If they were serious then maybe a respectable amount out of the humongous £40billion collected from motorists each year would be spent on transport/road building instead of just taking our money :mad:0

Have to agree with all the points here. Maybe we should all buy diesels and fill up with cheap veg oil, and not pay tax in protest?!0

Alright, it's been available at a lower cost than it was a few months ago, but I don't think it could ever be labelled as 'cheap'.0 -
Perhaps the truth is that we want what are our needs not to cost anything. That being so fuel would be dear at any price. I think the French ave it right. They say bon marché (good business) or moins cher (less dear). I think the fench carries the reality of what I said above.
I seem to recall hints that other taxes would change to compensate for the greening of our taxation, but am not inclined to hold ny breath until the chanfe comes. Are you!?0 -
does anyone think petrol will actually go up by 1.25p though.
84.9+1.25=86.15.
i've never seen petrol sold at anything other than a .9 at the end so it'll probably go up to 86.90 -
