One debt remaining. Home improvement loan.
  • Thanks Lou I have not stopped over the weekend. I have also realised that (on my instruction) my husband had sorted the TV licence to come out of my account. This was 24 pounds and as I have wriggle of 13 creates a small problem.

I therefore asked said husband to spot me 20 pounds, which he did bless him. This then doesnt impinge on my plan to make a small payment every day.

I will do some ironing and I will also photograph that ebay tonight. I might ask DD2 to go through her drawers and discard any clothes she no longer wants. She has just had a glut of new gear for her birthday.

I just made a tiny payment of 9p off my Amex as it was sitting in my current account and my minimum payment on vanquis is a pound.

In a fairly good mood, about to book my car for travel, will be booking expenses and overtime at the end of the week. Yipee!

    :rotfl:
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • I dont know how best to handle this but thought I might ask some advice - if I make a ten pound payment a day off vanquis is puts me well on track to hit and slightly exceed my monthly plan. I can then work it around my ebay etc, and at the end of the month if I have anything left on payday eve I can split between emergency fund and Vanquis. Do you think its a nice idea to do a tenner a day? I can start it from 1st April.

  • Plus of course there is the daily incentive of the balance coming down.... I dont know I am just trying to keep myself motivated!
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • Yes, I think I will do that as far as possible. Any shortfall should get made up with the ebay money during the course of the month.

I am determined to hit my targets tonight: paper logs, ebay photography, ironing and perhaps some questionnaires too.

As long as the kids behave them bit selves I should manage most of it.

This weather is beyond a joke now, we are having 6 months of winter, and we get to minus temps every night!

I shall write to someone and flaming complain!
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • You write and complain and I will countersign it :).

Been missing this weekend so have just caught up. I am talking a lodger in here I mean a tenant and I will move out and make this a let property. That's where the fear comes in. I have worked so so so hard to get myself out of debt that I have a fear of borrowing anything in future, Even my car is leased as I can then hand it back if needs be. Over the next 18 months I will work on my thinking about this.

Re the £10 a day challenge if that would work for you then go for it. I tried it and I failed :p as my money comes in all over the place so it wasn't a goer for me. Have a bash though as it seems to work for loads of folks on here.

Am back and starting to fight again so let's do this xx
5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
    Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
    Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
    By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.00
  • You knit the flags and I will saddle the wolfhounds. I am going to try it anyway, see how I go on. I just need things clearing, so 1st of April, will give it a go.
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • I had a minor hiccup. I lost the plot somewhat last night and I didnt photograph ebay and nor did I do any surveys.

I am drawing a line under that though. I already explained my pathetic behaviours in another post which I lost in the snow.

Suffice to say, last night I did some ironing and paper logs, but no surveys or ebay photography. I am travelling with work tomorrow so not a great lot will be completed tomorrow night either.

I have created a new snowball and it reads, 30 months. This is when I will be debt free and its all in black and white and in my snowball.

I also will try and pay more than my payment, but never less than my payment on there. I am really excited! :T

I will try and do a payment a day in April but only if funds allow. I have to have a caveat as I am essentially overpaying so many things at the moment.

Plates are spinning and balls are in the air, Ebay photography and a bit ironing tonight, and some prep for tomorrow so everythings organised.

2 days to my holidays, and 4 days to month 29!
