  • Tax credits are worrying me, as I had renewed without final figures and then I rang them about three weeks ago with the final figures, and Ive not even had a provisional notice.

Basically, last year I was on maternity leave, and I didnt earn very much at all. At the same time they had failed to action a change of circumstance and I began paying back an overpayment (almost done now)

But I think I am one of the people they now dont trust.

Ive worked out I am due an underpayment of about £1500. I just wish I could have it back, or even better if they take the last of the money I owe them off it first!

The CSA are worrying me too. Ex husbands crazy ex gf has launched an investigation, and bascially all cases ex husband is involved with are impacted.

She has a claim for a son they have.

Now, its looking like my payments will be reduced by 20 pounds a month which isnt the end of the world, as ex husband lives with three kids with his new partner and despite him earning over 50000 is rubbish with money so Im sure the ex gf needs something paying, but the problem is that every month at the latest by 12pm on the 8th, I get a text. This states the child support is on its way.

My fear is that isnt coming this month, until the investigation concludes.

Am still waiting for my PPI too. I havent even had the figures through and it was accepted by FOS at the beginning of may!

I shall gnash my teeth! At least the child benefit isnt impacted, thats due on the 15th.

  • Hope things get sorted with the tax credits and CSA - just keep thinking of the holiday and battle it all when you come back fresh and stress free :)
JC - thought i would jump in, i usually list on a sunday to end on a sunday and seem to do OK. Or start on a Thursday and do a 10 day listing to still end on a sunday. Packing up is a pain if everyone pays at the same time tho! Good luck

Thanks its a fair bit work, thanks for your kind thoughts too. It helps :-)

I find it best to end on a Sunday or a Wednesday evening. So a 7 day listing on a Sunday or a ten day listing on a Thursday is best for sundays, a 7 day on a wednesday and a ten day Sunday.

I dont recommend shorter times, I like to gather watchers. Good luck with it all.

  • I have been an organised little soul, for a change.

Last night after collecting DS I packaged up about half the ebay I need to post.

The remainder, I will post on Friday, however I state ten working days so its well within the limitations. Im taking a half day on Friday to avoid the celebration I was not invited to. So it makes sense.

I also made another sale, and thats another 56 pounds into the pot. I doubt I will repeat this week again and it will return to its normal decluttering exercise but the house is alot clearer and I feel so good about bringing the extra money in.

I had another bad night with DS, his poor teeth. I dont envy him. I do envy DH though, lying there snoring away while I am attempting to comfort totlet.
He is still off work and I think should be back tomorrow, its been a very severe attack and its not like him at all.

Ive worked out my credit card minimum payments as we are on a tight budget this month going into the holiday.

this is the MINUMUM I will be making, way ahead of due date because of the holidays. When we return from holidays we will be making additional payments to them, I am just making sure NOTHING is missed while we are away.

Ive got them on a note in my purse, and I will cross them off / reduce them accordingly. I will use the ebay money toward this too, because it frees money up at the end of the month to pay off the debit card for holiday spend, but will tally it all on a spreadsheet. So all is still on track.

Rang tax credits last night. She said there was a marker on my account stating it would be deal by the 3rd September. That was disappointing as alot of people have had theirs sorted within ten days.

I said I had not even had a provisional award notice, and it turns out this was the right thing to do as they had been "waiting" for me to call in.

My account was flagged due to new information. So I confirmed my details and was assured this would mean it should go through alot quicker.

She said I may be due a lump sum from last year, this will be paid immediately, (will check tax credits thread again but if I am to get one it will be at least a week) and would be very nice to have and would make things alot more comfortable before the holiday.

As for this years award, it should take about three weeks to fully process. This makes it about the time I am due to go away, so hopefully a slightly larger payment will ease the way into the break!

At the moment I get 18.07 a week, and I only earned 6000 last year, haha.

Whatever I get is fine, anyway, its better than nothing. Im not banking ona lump sum, or an increase, its more important that its all RIGHT, as I am still paying back and overpayment from 2 years ago, which wasnt my fault as i did ring to report but then though "well it must be right".

This morning, I had a text from the CSA, this text service informs me when money is on its way, and it was eagerly anticipated.

I opened the text and was disappointed though, it stated a payment of £118 was on its way. Should be paid in by Friday. Normally the payment is £284 a month.

I rang them, and spoke to a lovely helpful lady - she said a further £53 is being paid out tonight. That should hit my account by Monday. There has been no further money received. I will give it a couple of weeks to recoup the remaining hundred pounds, and she is sending me a schedule. If not received by the 19th, its time to chase.

The schedule shows payments are increasing to 325 from September apparently. This will be because the ex husband has had a hefty salary increase.

No matter, it will all come out in the wash.

When I come back from my holidays I will be saving my ebay to pay the balance of Disneyland (which is due to be repaid the end of November) and I will pay this DIRECTLY onto my credit card, then pay the balance from there on the due day. This should help with interest a bit.

I will then start saving for the spending money but will also do another long term investment, I think a yearly bond of 100 would be good.

I also want to build the emergency fund a bit. I am going to treat it as a debt, and make small payments every month. This wont be touched unless its an emergency!

Todays task is to chase the PPI repayment again. So much for my update on Friday!

Lets hope there is some news.

  • Just wanted to pop in and say hi. You are doing so well to juggle everything, keep making extra and chase up what is due as well as keep the family, 2 houses and the budgets going.

You did the right thing going to the dr's, accept any help you can get, its all about getting the balance back!

You inspired me to list on ebay last week, just one item and it sold for £60, I have some more bits put by and might list tonight based on the wed to wed listing so :kisses3: very much!
