  • The joy of a sore booby. Making women say owch since the dawn of time...

    Todays challenges to be overcome

1- 2 lots of car insurance taken from my account during a month when things are tighter than a gnats bot. They will refund, will take around 7 - 10 days. So available money to post ebay is 30 pounds. Husband took all the ebay money plus postage to cover his shortfall, which was recalculated to be 90 pounds. So he is sorted. Pfft. Hey I have 50 pounds of pending sales - hope they pay quickly.

2 - Lloyds Bank. I am at the point where the very sight of that Bl**dy horse makes me want to cry. Not only did they ignore my complaint letters, their customer "care" centre and their complaints teams as well as the branch staff cant find ANY records of any accounts relating to me or my ex husband, and despite having WRITTEN evidence from a previous debt collector that these were paid in full with no further sums due, they have again sent the debt on to a debt collection agency. Can I state that Westcott, as well as Moorcroft, have, on reciept of documentation, concerns and proof this is with the ombudsman, behaved impeccably and professionally. After all, I can prove I owe nothing.

The problem arises under the terms which this was originally settled. I divorced my ex husband and he under the terms of the setttlement kept the terraced house and he was under court order to settle debts and essentially buy me out. He failed to do this in three years so I was given that opportunity. I have done it.

However with Lloyds now changing their mind and persistantly sending this account to various debt collectors its only a matter of time before someone finds my ex husband and I am concerned that could mean real trouble for me.

Oh yeah and as a nice touch the Falkirk Lloyds office, decide not to publish a phone number on their headed paper. Just the registered office telephone number. Ive asked westcott if they can give me the contact details of the instigator. Then I can give them a nice call.

3 - Lots of housework washing and shopping to do with no money. Might go out for a forage this afternoon with the kids.

Paid a bit of Amex- just to keep it going. 79p isnt going to make a huge difference but its all in the right direction.

Did lots of surveys, and have more to do later, entered comps, etc.

  • Had a fabulous weekend and have put life into perspective, we can eat and forage and have fun. Ebay made enough to help us muddle through to next week.

It didnt hurt that my dad also gave me a bit cash to tide me over. £20 is all we need.

    I am a lucky girl.

Sometime it's good to just think fortunate we are in many ways.

  • I hate when I get in a downer. I am normally a positive person so when a downer comes on it hits me hard. Looks like you are quite like me. Normally positive but then along comes a wee downward spiral. Good thing though is that the good times are more often than the bad so smile sweet lady and things will get better xx :D

  • Simple pleasures and perspective is regained. Thanks all so much for messages of support. Once my antibiotics had whipped the masitus into shape and I wasnt running a temperature and suffering needle like pain in the b**by I cheered up considerably.

I have taken positive steps. All fuelled in part by wine - however I am going to reduce the amount of wine I am consuming - partly financial reasons and partly because I am becoming concerned at the amount I am drinking. I am someone who has started to drink every day, and whereas it was one or 2 glasses it is now at least half a bottle and some days a full bottle. So thats getting addressed too.

Im not a screaming alcoholic, clutching my meths and sleeping in my own puddle or anything. I am just starting to associate a glass of wine with relaxation. I just think its a dangerous place to be as any more depressive issues and I could very well develop a problem.

Please dont judge me on this - it has crept up on me but I am going to deal with it, and have wine on a weekend only.

I also gave the house a bloody good clean. I didnt spread myself too thin and race about all over, but instead I methodically cleaned up. I pulled out furniture, wiped skirting boards and generally made everything clean and fresh.

I baked pies. Then, we had my sister and her tribe over. Sunday, I went through paper work. I scanned a copy of the Lloyds letter and sent it on to the nice man at FOS. I filled in some solicitors letters, packaged ebay, sent off a letter to attempt to reclaim some charges and I did a load of surveys.

I can keep on top of them this week, and I need get back to doing to doing some more competitions too.

I am sitting looking at my mobile on my desk, wishing it would vibrate with news from the CSA, telling me my next payment is on its way and will hit my bank account in three days. Not yet.

Tonight is a cheap night out we are watching my nephew in a school production. Husband is babysitting DS and will get tea sorted for me. Time wise will be limited as to what I can sort tonight but hopefully can maintain the nice clean house, and clean out the fire (which we put in last night) and perhaps top up surveys and also a couple of comps too.

Quiet day at work today so I will do a bit planning and then see if I can look around the diaries, then ill do some planning and then some cheeky comps.

Went back on facebook, just for the competitions. Am not interested in the silliness or fuss. Just show me the competitions!!!

Right. I shall eat some home made snacks now.

    Back in the game!!

  • Aww thanks for that. Things have just worn me down.

Treated myself to some deoderant. 95p in Wilkinsons. A necessary purchase for hygiene reasons.

Apart from car parking and postage for the ebay, thats probably all I will spend today.

Sun is shining which is lovely!
