  • I see what you mean, you dont have to physically mention it you just allow them to look at your credit file. You might have to admit there is some history on there, but thats all. :)

Debt free~~When I was asked about debt when I applied for my last mortgage i know that they checked with the credit ref agency that what I had told them was correct.I think this is standard practise and that the amount of debt you have can decrease your mortgage lending depending on how much you owe IYSWIM?

  • Hi all been really busy, just popping in while doing ebay / surveys and comps!

Will be on to update tomorrow as its payday!
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • I must apologise- I have been so so busy. I have been paid and made all my payments to everything and my signature is updated but nto my total debt. In addition to trying to get some more paid off p2p, I am going to do a payment a day to the amex debt.
Ive been so busy entering competitions, doing surveys, doing ebay. I have sold about 60 quids worth of stuff, and I am also subcontracting out my ebay skills to sell for a friend at work. I get 15% of the profits and all fees and stuff comes off first. And this is all really nice stuff, designer labels etc. So far Ive got three things listed and I can make 2.40 in commission and they still have about ten days to go.

    Brilliant eh?
we have eaten our batch cooked food this week and I have been bringing sandwiches into work so no spends there. This weekend we will go up my sisters and also I will tidy the garden and do an hours work at the other house again. I will get my husband to register for that writing website as he has been a little tardy at doing what he is told ... men !!!

Ill skip back this afternoon when I have been to wilkos for my washing tablets. Hope everyone is ok will have a nose around the diaries now and then do a sneaky comp!

Still doing well I see. Nice new fresh ideas are great and upping your income in any way give you the breathing space.

Regarding the mortgage, my plan is to have my debt next to nothing when I apply (still figuring out how to do this!) and then honestly declare my outgoings per month which is what they ask you anyway. According to the credit site I have the highest score you can get but can't get credit as I already have alot. So if I manage to pay alot of it off then surely I'll be able to take it back in the form of a higher mortgage....That's the plan anyway - they will be able to check that I make my payments on time and over minimum etc.

When they do a search on you I presume they don't get your credit file up in front of them, they just get their answer on the screen saying yey or ney?

  • I used a mortgage broker as the admin fee was worthwhile for me. They did a soft footprint and the halifax accepted me. I declared I had history but in the last year I have been as good as gold. I think on the basis of that and the large amount of equity remaining in the house I was accpeted. In three months when I go for my extension money I should be even better off again as I will have cleared more debt.

  • That gives me hope skint as we're with the halifax and have excellent history with them. I will be nervous as hell when it comes to applying for the mortgage.

  • DebtFree2012, I have always wondered the same as you, whether they actually see your whole credit file or just get a yes or no ? I have asked the question a few times but noone seems to know !

  • Well it probably differs depending on what you are applying for. Maybe...
