  • Thanks - I went off the rails, I got bored with moneysaving and went back to the bad old ways. BUT this wasnt a wasted experience I am back, and I have learnt from it. So I am good at knowing where to go wrong if nothing else.

Talking of which - I had the dog to the vets last night and it was a no charge visit. Fabulous vets. Thanks to the money saved my husband bought a takeaway to save us from cooking. However, this was rather naughty but this is our holidaytime (Yes I know I am at work but the husband is back at work next week then we are off together for a week), we are out at a castle on Saturday and its a pic nic lunch provided by mother in law.
received my Rise statement last night and its going to take 151 pounds to completely clear the account so I am paying that off at the end of this month. As the account is closing on 20th september this will have a nice zero balance.

Did some maths around my P2P payment and I can afford to find an additional 160 for that after rise has gone , and instead of taking 5 payments to clear that will be gone in 3. So thats closing on 25th October.

Made some ebay sales last night and will be posting some things today. We made about 20 pounds again, nice steady income!

  • I wonder when I will hear from the council about the next stage of my house purchase. That will free up another 200 pounds a month for me as I wont be having to pay rent, and the mortgage is alot cheaper. Hope it hurries up!

  • Mulling over what I will use the additional 200 pounds for.

    Will return later with musings.

  • I think the best thing I can do with the money freed up from the rent will be to use half the money (100) saved to my debt and use the other 50 to save for a car fund (repairs, insurance, tax, purchase etc) and a further 50 in the home improvement pot which covers repairs as well.

  • Obviously this will be subject to review depending on where I am in the whole process! I think thats a decent enough plan, still focussing on debt but not wholly so, as I wont have the security blanket of the local authority repairing things, I need to have that fund. Also can be used on the other house when things may be needed for the tenant.

  • Tonight Im going to iron and list ebay.Friday night of rock n roll

however weather is a bit ropey here in the north so I shaould invest time indoors.

Might pop down the other house for a half an hour today and do a spot more work.
Will see what the husband thinks.
