  • Ive been invited to apply for another job this is again a high faluting position and i dont want to set myself up for a fall, but I will give myself a few days to think about it. Also its working within the same department as my husband, although higher up the managerial tree.

Not 1000% sure that would work well at all.

    Hey skint

I too am having job issues so feeling your uncertainty there as to what to do.

As for your DFD - I find they change all the time and as we don't know what's round the corner it may be closer than you think but hey, as long as you have one right?

  • Thanks - on the job front I know but I need to keep myself motivated and cant take the risk of some crashing disaster, after all, I have recently returned to work following a breakdown. However I have to keep myself in the frame to earn more money and my time out of the house has to be the best value for my family.

As for my debt free date, at the moment it isnt fit for purpose. New debt has just come in from the solicitor and this is making me rather grr,and extending the date but there are ways out of it all. My other HMRC is also going to start this month too. Its interest free as well.

We need to be renting the house out faster than we had thought, so we are taking the interest free loan from mam in law, and then we can get the tenant in, and then we can have more money available to throw at debt and get rid of some things.

Im not getting demoralised, instead I am reassessing the goals. OK so some arent acheivable right now, but I can look at the steps I need to take to get to where I want to be.

Solicitor and HMRC and a debt to my mam are all interest free, I will make payments but not overpay as my mam is comfortably off.

The mother in law wants paying half the rent once we have a tenant and thats a good deal, as the mortgage is still covered, again interest free, but we will have another money release of 160 pounds as we wont be having to pay water rates, council tax and gas and electricity for the place.

Ill focus on what I can do. Also had word childcare vouchers are sorted, and childcare will be 200 per month cheaper as well as having the vouchers should save us a further 50 pounds.

I think we will get back to basics and budget our food etc, and pull things along that way just for a couple of months, because we are still on course to repay three debts and have in excess of 250 pounds freed up. So its still all in the right direction.

  • keep going Skint, I think you are doing a fantastic job and you are certainly showing me how to do it properly. Don't beat yourself up over the job situation, if it is meant to be then it will be, and if you get to boss the hubby round at work as well as at home then it will be he who has to go get the lunch in!
