Well, if it's a house you want, ie family accommodation, then having a family is a bit of a prerequisite. As a single person with no children, you would qualify for a flat. But, as you want the councils to provide housing to meet the current need of the applicant, that should be perfectly agreeable to you.

You could have just ignored the question instead of wasting your time dodging it with this post.

I've answered the other part of your rather repetative post some time ago.

The problem where i lived in the 90's was it was nearly all the girls i knew from school all got pregnant so they could get a council house and that really did stick in my throat. It was the ONLY reason they had children, yet they all got council houses and probably now have 3-4 kids each i would bet. Its policies like that which cause the stigma, but it was an easy option for these girls and got them a decent house and benefits for nothing, so the vicious circle begins!

every statement you make is answered with fact you have chosen to ignore all the answers given and rabble on showing no knowledge of the area at all. just a misguided grudge

    You didnt answer this though.

Im sure that program about council housing on the tv the other night had somebody say that they try and discourage people from putting their name on the waiting list.

Maybe im wrong but video evidence is available to you if you need to check on that.

Perhaps you should work a bit harder, then you could afford to move.

And yet the North West is one area where private rented properties are CHEAPER than social housing. Maybe it was just good advice if all they wanted was to save for a deposit.

Really? Where in the North West is that, then? I live in the North West and my private rented house costs twice as much as the Housing association property I lived in two years ago. I had to move, though, as anti-social behavior was making my families lives hell and I could never have moved on in my life living where I was, sadly :(
