I've just tried what you suggested, it appears in the reply box but when I click on post I get the following message:
The text that you have entered is too long (134230 characters). Please shorten it to 25000 characters long.
The photo looked an acceptable size in the reply box so maybe the only way is to upload it to a photo hosting website. Thanks any ways

I had my lovely dalmation pts a couple of weeks ago - I too felt guilty for some time - she was 13 with degenerative back problems couldn't stand unaided and had been soiling herself for many months - the pts was a horrid experience and I cried like a baby even as a big "tough" bloke. You can't help feeling maybe it wasn't quite the right time - maybe a few more weeks... but you've got to think of all the good times you had and the quality of life towards the end can't have been good for mine or your dog. The pain/guilt will pass - you have done your best for your beloved friend.0

Thank you for your kind words and website address.
My little boy's name is Maxi. Is there a way I can upload his photo to this thread without using a photo hosting website?
I don't think so,a lot of websites disabled their own image hosting due to viruses & the space images took up on their database.0 -
Sorry to hear of your loss Paul. I know time is a healer and the pain will fade or we will just learn how to cope with it but right now I feel like I am never going to get over the loss of my dog. I had a stronger bond with him than I do with my family, especially since he followed my every move. I am so lost without him.
I am such a mess, I haven't slept since saturday night, I can't eat and just constantly crying. This is depression at it's worst. It's amazing how attached you can become to a pet especiallly when they are a part of your life for so long.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -

I was exactly the same. The morning he went, after I buried him wrapped in his favorite blanket in a wooden box (and that was the hardest thing I've ever had to do!) I couldn't stay in the house.I had to get out so I went for a drive, found myself over the ASSISI sancturary & spent a good hour or so in the cattery, some of the time in threaders,The girls there were really sympathetic & helped me choose Christmas,a deaf white cat who I had for one night but had to return her as she was so destructive,& I came away with Daisy.
I honestly can say I have never felt such grief since my Dad died in 2000.I cried everytime I went into the kitchen overlooking his grave,or to put the rubbish out.And I got seriously drunk.I think I drank nearly a liter of scotch that night.0 -

He looks a great, friendly chap - so sorry for your loss.'We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time. '
