When you set up a new payee the first payment never goes by Faster Payment. Santander claim this is to protect the payer, but I believe this is unique to Santander.

    OK,

I just tried this morning with a payment I already had set up and sure enough it shows just as above :T

So set up a new payment to someone else (Barclays) and went to send a test amount and the "faster Payment" did not display :(

So logged out and back in and tried again, same :(

Now I am wondering if it needs a set time to pass or you have to make the initial payment under snail and next time you will get the option for speed!!!

The reason I first said it did not work still was last week, I set up a new payment, made it, it showed no "Faster Payment" and took 3 days to arrive.

On trying a test payment of 1p to that same name today it showed the "Faster Payment" Logo.

All amounts I am talking about are under £150, so it is not a limit issue.

New payments go by BACS (slow way) the first time. The way around this is as soon as you set up your new payment send 1p and then they will go by faster payments afterwards.

There is a £300 a day limit on faster payments.

The £300 Daily Limit is not much use in this day and age. I have written to Santander advising them of this!

Why would you waste paper and ink writing to Santander.

Send a packet of peanuts instead. Monkeys can't read

News from the front says that the facility to add fixed rate products such as bonds is being rolled out over the coming months.

It's not unique to Santander, NatWest does the same.
