I use purr & simple litter for my 3 cats.
From petplanet.co.ukPurr & Simple All Natural Cat Litter is a proven best odour eliminator! It absorbs and eliminates odour faster that any other cat litter on the market. It does not contain any artificial fragrances or additive, but in fact is developed from fibrous plant material (including wallnut nutshells!) that is completely biodegradable.
Look at these fabulous benefits that set it above the rest!- No odour
- Incredibly absorbent
- No tracking
- No dust
- Minimal maintenance
- Long lasting
- All natural
- healthy for pets and humans
- ideal for kittens
- Perfect for multi-cat households

It is very expensive though. I have the 18kg bag which costs £39.99 but it has lasted me months. No problems with it either.Wife and mother :jGrocery budget

Remembered earlier that I've 1/2 a bag of the PAH litter in the garage (kept for emergencies in case I ran out) - have been out and it's totally different.
I've put a sample of the old one and the new one in wee bags and will be complaining when I go tomorrow! (Usage changed from a bag a month to 2 weeks - if I'm lucky) which is just ridiculous! I bet they're using a cheaper wood/co to produce it but haven't reduced the price to compensate.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I have noticed that the pellets got somehow darker too - stopped using it a while ago as with 4 cats it was not practical but I was using wood based one from PAH for many years before.
I got 9 bags, 30 litres each in a shed now ...hmmmm since December when I swapped for the clumping litter.0 -

I can highly recommend this one. It's made from walnuts and in the demonstration I saw, we poured some neat ammonia into it and there was absolutely no smell whatsoever!0 -

If you shop at PAH, pls try this one:
It is £5.49 for 7kg and one bags lasts me a whole week with 4 cats so with your 2 you should not need more than 2 bags per month.
I put the whole bag into a massive tray that I have, all of the bag at once, scoop up few times per day and at the end of the week there is still a bit left. Really very good litter.
.
Gettingready recommended this on a thread I started - and I am totally a convert. No smell and it lasts for ages.0 -
crafty Kate - glad you like it, I thougth it was very good for the price
Pity it only comes in 7kg bags though as with my SIX cats now....
recently ordered one from Zooplus (posted somewhere here too). Biocat, very good too
will be now testing another one, forgot the name, will post info tomorrow
But that one above is really good
The trick is of course fill it in really deep so the clumps will form - if it is too shallow, it may too stick to the bottom of the tray, I keep mine filled i really deep all the time and fish for the clumps
It is quite fine in texture, the Biocat is even finer than Multicat , completely like sand. I think those coearse types of clumping litters simply do nto work...0 -
I bought a 15kg bag of the Clean N Tidy one from my Pets at Home store - so heavy I had to get someone else to carry it up the stairs, but it was £9.99 so it did work out slightly cheaper. I will have to check out ordering online because lugging this stuff around is hard work!0

Really? Online they only have 7kg bags.......

Which PAH was that?
Lucky you if you can get bigger bags and it works cheaper .. I did not see bigger bags online
But Now I can confirm that Biocat lasts me 2 weeks between 2 massive trayes and 6 indoor cats, it was 9.99 from Zooplus so similar price, finer granules than Clean and Tidy and as good as the other one. They do apple frangranced one and plain one. Tried both - because they are bigger bags than Clean and Tidy so both very good
