Cat litter - suggestions welcome!

Hi, I've used wood based litter for years and have always liked it (helps with smells etc) and the cats seem to like it. I've been using this one for a while: http://www.petsathome.com/shop/lightweight-non-clumping-wood-pellet-cat-litter-30ltr-by-pets-at-home-15259.
However, just bought 2 bags from PAH at the weekend and it seems to have totally changed - much bigger pellets and they don't seem as tightly "packed". I'm going through it by the tonne and think I'll be lucky for one bag to last a fortnight at this rate!
Anyway, just wondered if any of you have tried the following: http://www.petsathome.com/shop/lightweight-non-clumping-pink-cat-litter-30ltr-by-sophisticat-15257 - is it any good / how long does a bag last etc.
Any other suggestions welcome - I have 2 cats, both get outside but prefer the tray and usually head straight for it when they come in  - not interested in using clumping litter.
Thanks:D

I use this, its AMAZING. I used to use the wood pellets but tried this and wouldnt use anything else now. It does track a little bit but it is a small price to pay. Just read the end of your post about not wanting to use clumping litter so ignore my suggestion! The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
I have used this in the past, but it turns my cats paws pink.
I originally used wood pellets, but was sick of the sawdust all over the floor!
I use catsan now, it is a bit more expensie, but is fab, spot clean it and it lasts ages, and it's great for odour control too0 -
I used the pellets one for ages before I got converted to slumping litter.
If you shop at PAH, pls try this one:
It is £5.49 for 7kg and one bags lasts me a whole week with 4 cats so with your 2 you should not need more than 2 bags per month.
I put the whole bag into a massive tray that I have, all of the bag at once, scoop up few times per day and at the end of the week there is still a bit left. Really very good litter.
I also bought this one recently from zooplus:
It is £9.99 for 15 litres - that should last you a month with just 2 cats.0 -
Worlds Best Cat litter - one bag lasts weeks with three cats. They love it and we love it because it doesn't smell, it clumps really well, and although it's not the cheapest in the world, we buy a 3kg bag at a time and it lasts really well.0

I'm a fan of Litter Purrfect from Costco - we have 4 cats and it works well. One of mine really didn't like the woody one, but all seem happy with this.Determined to be a thrifty Mama!0

Thanks everyone, going to have to visit PAH tomorrow as need to change dog food:( (been on Skinners as has wheat allergy but now started another allergy and the only thing I can think of is the duck that's in it).
Anyway, will have a good hunt tomorrow when I'm there.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

DO NOT use the clumping cat litter from Lidl's!! It turns into a solid mass of semi-wet 'concrete' that sticks to the litter tray! You need a shovel to shift it!0

We use the Gravel based clumping one from PAH. Have tried the wood based one before and cats wouldn't use it.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £18,886.270

That's been my previous experience of clumping litters which is why I was so dead set against them!
I may try the PAH one though - will have a trawl tomorrow.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

we use that PAH one and haven't noticed any difference. We use the wood ones as we can just fill them up and scoop every day and they last so much longer and don't stink!
one of our little men is prone to weeing in strange places but we had the first accident today for a month and that was as hubby had forgotton to clean the trays and he is a picky so and so!Crafting for 2009 items doneOne patchwork blanket, two neck supports, one tea cosy, one knitted bunny, one knitted egg!0
