I must admit since they changed the way they do things relating to the receipts I am starting to grow weary of doing my Shop and Scan. It suited me sending the receipts in the prepaid envelope but now we have to scan them and send them in it’s a real pain.

I don’t have a scanner and I have tried on a number of occasions to get it to work using a digital camera but I can’t for the life of me get the blooming things work so I can send them across. This means I’m missing out an the points I used to get by sending them in the post so I’m not accruing points as easily as I was before.

I tried emailing them saying that I don’t have a scanner and when I try to take pictures of them using my camera it doesn’t accept them but all they did was send me instructions back which don’t work either :(

Anyone else having this problem or can give me some clues on how I can get them to work?

Do you know why it's not working? Is it because the file size is too big?

I haven't got a scanner either, maybe Santa will be nice and give me a all in one scanner/printer next month???

Taking photos is a pain, especially if i have done a big shop at one store. It needs 3 or 4 photos for one receipt.

What i do is have a folder in 'my pictures' labelled shopandscan, and put them in there so they are all in one place and easier to find. Once i have uploaded them to their website i delete them all from the folder.

It is quite easy to upload them as long as you know which photos relate to the receipts.

Agreed its a real pain doing the receipts. We do a big shop every week so its always 3 or 4 photos to take, then have to upload them and crop them so they are the right size.
I wouldent bother with it, but i am lucky enough to do food on the go, so will carry on with it!

I found that the software that came with my camera was rubbish (it's a Fuji film jobby). But Picasa is much, much better - and free! I've found it alot easier to crop the photos and also reduce the mb size down to 500. Not sure if that's going to be of any help to folks, but it works for me!

Cos how can you be gloomy, when the sun shines out your bum? :D

Yes but it's £5 to join(if you download before midnight Sunday) , now topped up by another £2.50 bonus if still doing it after 1 month, then 50p a month when you could leave if you wanted. So if you try it for a month you get £7.50 - so that is worth it IMO:T

Thanks. I've installed it on a test subject, a laptop I only use for testing so I needn't worry about privacy. Installed fine and so far no problems or major interference.

Yes that is usually the reason. I know that the way to get around this is to reduce the size but it is such a blooming faff that I really can't be bothered to do it. Each time I've tried reducing the size a bit they still say the file is too big and I just end up getting frustrated :o

DOn't know if this will work for you but all I do is take a photo, put the file on my desktop then right click on the photo -> click on 'open with' and then select Microsoft Office Picture Manager. The Edit Picture, then compress. Then choose type and then save and close. Takes about 1 min.

Agreed! I got the same offer with the extra points about 6 weeks ago - installed it - which was ok, tbh - got my 5000 points, a couple of weeks ago got my extra 2500 points, and have now removed it, as don't think it's worth it for 50p a month, but I'm happy with my 7500 points! :j
