How do you get an invitation for the shop and scan website?

    Hello

I have been doing this for a number of years i acually started when they did it in "paper format" they would send you a huge booklet and you would write down EVERYTHING you eat...very tiresome!

So far it has paid for my sons bed, my AV sender, a DS lite, some paving slabs, turf and a surround sound system. I do the shop and scan, webview, petrol receipts and food on the go the latter you still get points even if you do not buy something you just need to send them a free text telling them so. You start off with one panel and then get invited to extra panels as you go along depending on how regular you are at sending the info.

Also, occasionally you get invites to do an short on line survey approx. once a month which will also gain you more points - except one survay they sent me a couple of years ago which was asking what bath/hair/beauty/make up products I used on which day and at what time which seemed to take forever....

The only thing this will cost you is a little time and to my mind is money for nothing!

I have had a number of friends/relatives who have wanted to join and when I asked them the emailed response was:

    VOLUNTEER

Thank you for your enquiry about your friend/family to join our panel.

Would you please ask them to visit our website www.volunteer4panels.com and complete the online application form.

Their details will then be passed to our Volunteer department who will contact them as soon as they have a suitable vacancy.

A couple of my friends were not accepted as they already had families in the area who filled that criteria eg one was someone who classed themselves as a single parent family with 3 childern however all the childern were over 20.

I would recommend joining this group and the couple of times I have had an issue with the clicker, etc they have rectified it eventually...as a previous posting does mention they try to blame you for the error etc however I just
persevere and be polite and chatty and they sort it.

    Hope this helps?

    Thanks.

I've registered on the volunteer panels site. Fingers crossed I guess. :T
  • I've had the Webview offer now aswell. I'm wondering how it works exactly as I'm not keen on downloading osftware like this having rejected similar offers eslewhere, like with lightspeed.

It states you simply have to select whose browsing when you open your browser.

What data is it collecting then?
I can't believe it has zero effect on your browsing?
If you have multiple browsers can you choose which browser it will effect or will it effect all?

It is the same software as the Lightspeed one. If you follow the require assistance link in the email, it takes you to the webview page. Then click on 'problem solving' there is something about it there. If you are in the Lightspeed one you can't do this one....... unless of course you remove the existing program.

Personally, 50p a month to let them spy on you isn't worth it. IMO

    i agree with the bolded.
  • What about having a dedicated browser for it, or an individual profile? Does it state how much you need to use the browser (browse) to actualyl qualify for the points?

Take the easiest example, you create a specific browser/profile and tel lthe program to only latch onto this, then you open it once a month do a few generic things, nothing too personal just genric stuff you;d do anyway then that's it.?

Yes but it's £5 to join(if you download before midnight Sunday) , now topped up by another £2.50 bonus if still doing it after 1 month, then 50p a month when you could leave if you wanted. So if you try it for a month you get £7.50 - so that is worth it IMO:T

Does anyone know the procedure for leaving Shop & Scan? I've become so busy recently that I've just not got the time to scan barcodes for £1/week (even though the free Amazon vouchers are very nice!)

I understand that they'll send me a postage paid envelope - is that correct?

I must admit since they changed the way they do things relating to the receipts I am starting to grow weary of doing my Shop and Scan. It suited me sending the receipts in the prepaid envelope but now we have to scan them and send them in it’s a real pain.

I don’t have a scanner and I have tried on a number of occasions to get it to work using a digital camera but I can’t for the life of me get the blooming things work so I can send them across. This means I’m missing out an the points I used to get by sending them in the post so I’m not accruing points as easily as I was before.

I tried emailing them saying that I don’t have a scanner and when I try to take pictures of them using my camera it doesn’t accept them but all they did was send me instructions back which don’t work either :(

Anyone else having this problem or can give me some clues on how I can get them to work?
