Hi taxi, they didn't actually phone me! Well not until this morning. I booked the appointment on the website on I think Thursday - with my choice of 3 dates including today. He phoned me this morning when he was presumably already on his way.
I told him I'd think about it and consult my husband so I will phone him tomorrow and say Hubby says No.
Pretty easy £20, though I felt a bit bad about wasting his time.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Well handled...they still haven't phoned me yet and my last date was for today....I hope it all goes through ok...0

Awwww...thanks for that...don't know where I would've been if I hadn't of found this site last year!!!!...I've managed to pay every bill and extra even though I've been off months...so am really proud of that...the only debt I've took on is a brand new car(for business) and that was needed!!! but obviously added a lot to my debt but will save me money in the long run IYSWIM..so feeling positive at the moment....though a little sad as we have usually booked and paid for a holiday by now usually taken in Jan...
I made a promise to DH that because when I sign off sick the government will pay me £40 p/w for a year that I will put0 -
sorry about that my keyboard had a blip...
away in a holiday fund..then we will book a bargain holiday and he is fine with this...once I've paid all the CCs off things will be easier..I need read of those by may next year...if possible..so will plod on and see where I get....sorry about the post being in 2 bits0 -
Sometimes bargain holidays can be really great. We are saving now for next year and may just wait for a last minute deal and try somewhere totally different.
We're challenging ourselves to raise the money through cashback sites etc and raise spends from £2 savings. Doing okay so far (see sig) but still long way to go. You could try doing something similar to boost your holiday savings -you might even be able to get away in January after all for a cheap break

What a good idea...I can't see any hope of getting away jan as I really want both of those CCs finished before the 0% ends on them...and I've over £9000 to go!!!!..so really want to shove as much spare as possible towards them(except the £40 p/w)..I'll also have a big tax bill in jan(don't know how much yet) and don't want to use cards for that either...it's so hard sorting all these budgets out...isn't it?...I will get there in the end..
The plasterer hasn't phoned me back either...I phoned him about 7pm and it was just answer machine so I've left him a message...I'm not going to keep chasing him..if he can't be bothered to give me the quote thats his problem...and I will just use the money to pay off CCs ...ahhh well...You're doing great on those savings by the way...well done0 -
Hi Taxi
If you can sort out the cc's and pay your tax bill without borrowing you will have achieved lots. The hol can always wait a while until you are in a better position with your £40 week savings.:D
Hope the plasterer gets back to you soon, really frustrating when that happens. Can't understand why they bother to come and look at the job when they can't be bothered to get back to you with the quote
Seems a bit pointless.
Maybe he will finally get back to you once he gets your message.
