Well we have had our offer from Bovis the house was originally up for 72,000 Bovis offered us at first 63,758 and wouldnt budge on their price or any extras. So we said No way. They then phoned back and said they would offer us 68,000 and chuck us carpets and lino in to. We thought this ok so we going ahead now

Thanks Oggy0 -
Just reserved with persimmon on a p/ex basis. Managed to negotiate down from 220k to 189k and up from 95k to 110k. With half year ends coming up in June its the right time to be bargaining. Good luck to everyone trying to do this at the moment.0

Grats! What development have you gone for?
We've pulled out, they weren't willing to drop the price of the house enough to what i would class as a reasonable market value.

How far along is the house build?
We pulled out with Persimmon 2 weeks ago due to price, but they're desperate to get the stock sold by the end of June and came back with a great offer last Thursday.
You might get lucky as well if the house is nearly complete0 -
Great thread guys.
Im just about to recieve an offer in PX for my house with Barratts, the lady at the sales center even told me about the end of June results so they are desperate to shift some last minute houses. My house is currently up for sale at 80k and the one I want is up at 152k.
What kind of prices do you think I could be lucky at getting here on your peoples experience? Im just hoping that because of the 6 weeks before the end of June they might not bother messing me about by offering 50k for my house or something stupid..0 -
Well TW are really holding everything up now, financial advisor is on standby wanting to sort out mortgages, solicitor is in limbo as he has not been able to obtain contracts from TW yet.
We have had a PX offer of 140k and accepted, the PX manager from TW has been round to check what fixtures and fittings we will be leaving in and the surveyor has been too.
This all took place last Tuesday and Wednesday 10th/11th and still not heard anything.
Even though we have accepted the PX offer it doesn't mean anything unless the survey is OK at which point we can start to get excited that everything is going to work out. As it stands we haven't heard a thing0 -
Well Im with bovis our house was up for 72,000 and Bovis offered us 68,000 in the end. They said to us its coming to half yearly figures so they want to shift as many houses as they can. Well we have had our offer paid our res fee signed all paperwork from solictor and filled out fixtures and fittings forms. Our surveyor has been to survey the new build so just waiting for results. Paid for our searches now we just waiting for Bovis to send their Surveyor out to us now. Darent get excited yet lol
